'"Oshi no Ko"' Unveils Additional Cast, Staff, Opening Theme

The official website of the "Oshi no Ko" television anime unveiled additional cast, staff, the opening theme, and a new promo on Sunday. The anime is set to broadcast in April 2023.

Megumi Han (Little Witch Academia (TV)) is joining the cast as Kana Arima.

Music duo YOASOBI (Kidou Senshi Gundam: Suisei no Majo) is performing the opening theme "Idol," which is previewed in the promotional video below.

Daisuke Hiramaki (Selection Project) is helming the television anime at Doga Kobo. Jin Tanaka (Love Live! Nijigasaki Gakuen School Idol Doukoukai) is handling the series composition and script. Kanna Hirayama (Kanojo, Okarishimasu) is designing the characters.

"Oshi no Ko" adapts Aka Akasaka (Kaguya-sama wa Kokurasetai: Tensai-tachi no Renai Zunousen) and Mengo Yokoyari (Kuzu no Honkai)'s music drama manga, which began serializing in Young Jump magazine in April 2020. Shueisha shipped the tenth volume on January 19.

Shueisha began publishing the manga in English on its Manga Plus platform on April 2022. Yen Press licensed the manga in English in July 2022. The first volume went on sale on January 17, and the second volume is scheduled to be released on May 23.

Not really my cup of tea. I'm not interested in idols and idol culture. But damn! I liked the trailer. Designs of these characters are also interesting, with those starry pupils, haha.

PV and everything else looks good. Theme song by YOASOBI is very much welcome. Can't wait for Oshi-no-ko and I have pretty high expectations too.

I was probably underestimating the studio a bit but this PV at least is easily A-1 level of animation.

YOASOBI is doing the opening theme!!!!!! I loved the G-Witch op and the 2nd Beastars OP. In the PV, it sounds like they're doing a weird scary choir song and it sounds so cool!!!!! And it's combined with a kinda generic idol pop song, so cool!!!!

Though this is nowhere near author's other work, this will still blow up. Just look how cute this studio is trying to make this adaptation into, and that's all what it needs.

Man im so hyped for this to come out. People were really worried that doga koba would make it look shit but this pv proves wrong And man those babies were so adorable lol. that opening sounds amazing aswell
