'"Oshi no Ko"' Reveals Pair of Additional Cast, Second Promo
The "Oshi no Ko" RED Stage presentation at AnimeJapan 2023 unveiled two additional casts, the key visual (pictured), and a second promotional video on Saturday. The anime is set to broadcast on April 12 at 11:30 p.m. on Tokyo MX, Chiba TV, Gunma TV, Sun TV, KBS Kyoto, BS11, and other channels.
Manaka Iwami (Otonari no Tenshi-sama ni Itsunomanika Dame Ningen ni Sareteita Ken) and Rumi Ookubo (Death Parade) are joining the cast as Akane Kurokawa and Mem-Cho, respectively.
Rock band Ziyoou-vachi (Dororo, Chainsaw Man) is performing the ending theme "Mephisto," which is previewed in the promotional video.
Daisuke Hiramaki (Selection Project) is helming the television anime at Doga Kobo. Jin Tanaka (Love Live! Nijigasaki Gakuen School Idol Doukoukai) is handling the series composition and script. Kanna Hirayama (Kanojo, Okarishimasu) is designing the characters. Takurou Iga (Fuuka) is composing the music.
"Oshi no Ko" adapts Aka Akasaka (Kaguya-sama wa Kokurasetai: Tensai-tachi no Renai Zunousen) and Mengo Yokoyari (Kuzu no Honkai)'s music drama manga, which began serializing in Young Jump magazine in April 2020. Shueisha shipped the 11th volume on March 17.
Shueisha began publishing the manga in English on its Manga Plus platform on April 2022. Yen Press licensed the manga in English in July 2022. The first volume went on sale on January 17, and the second volume is scheduled to be released on May 23.
