Production company Toho announced an original anime movie titled Kimi no Iro (Your Color) on Saturday, revealing the main staff and a teaser promo. The movie is scheduled to open in theaters in Japan in Fall 2023.

Director Naoko Yamada (K-On! Movie, Koe no Katachi) is helming the original movie at Science SARU. Reiko Yoshida (Violet Evergarden, Kimi to, Nami ni Noretara) is penning the script. Kensuke Ushio (Liz to Aoi Tori, Chainsaw Man) is composing the music. STORY inc. is credited for the planning and production.

Synopsis
"I can see people's hearts in 'color.'"

Totsuko, a high school girl from Nagasaki City who attends a mission school, can see people's emotions as "colors"—happy colors, sad colors, calm colors, frightened colors... To avoid darkening the "color" of friends and family, she pays attention, reads the atmosphere, and tells lies to conceal the situation.

Totsuko ends up forming a band with a girl with beautiful colors and a boy who loves music after finding herself in a second-hand bookstore in a remote part of the city. Three overly delicate people gather and begin to play youth.

Ah, that's what you mean. Well, I don't know her sources of inspiration, but as far as I know, mood-colors are originally an Asian karmic thing.

The Director of K-on. Well that's not good, but maybe the studio...

Oh, it's SARU. Well perhaps if the screenwriter...

Violet Evergarden. Huh. It's like they're taking care to pick someone unimpressive at every opportunity. I'll pass.

Going off the staff, this seems like it will be cool. That's a nicely drawn hand and "colors" I guess, I wonder how this will look like when it comes out.
