The second season will air in July 2022, with the third season scheduled for a 2023 debut. The anime will adapt the entirety of the first-year arc.

The livestream event also revealed a project promo, project visual (pictured), cast, staff, and theme song artists for the second season. The voice cast from the first season will reprise their roles.

The first anime season adapting Shougo Kinugasa's school psychological light novel—also known by its short title You-Zitsu—aired in 12 episodes in Summer 2017. Crunchyroll simulcast the anime with subtitles, while Funimation streamed an English dub. The latter also shipped the anime series on home video in August 2018.

MF Bunko J imprint released the first light novel series in 14 volumes between May 2015 and September 2019, featuring illustrations by Shunsaku Tomose (Ange Vierge). Kinugasa launched a sequel light novel the following January. Kadokawa published the fifth volume last October, with the sixth volume scheduled for release on Friday. You-Zitsu has a cumulative 6 million copies of its volumes in print, including digital editions.

I really disliked first season cause it ended with big cliffhanger with no news if there will be S2. S1 was so good im surprised it didn't get continuation much earlier.. Years later, and im really hyped to see how this is going to end!

Average to you, but I'm not gonna sit here and judge you lol

thanks for the lack of judgement, i appreciate it. sometimes folks like me just can't voice an opinion that is 'against the grain' without some loud-mouth or a bunch of nagging Nancys getting on me about what is good and what isn't.

i mentioned that even if the specific show isn't my cup of tea; i'm happy the folks who do like it get more content. i guess that part wasn't 'edgeworthy' enough for a comment from that person?

oh yeah, i'm 100% sure it's just me and my opinion/perspective. but i found 'Monster' from 2004 a hell of a lot more challenging intellectually than 'classroom'.
Monster is objectively a masterpiece, that's not fair man xD

But yeah I totally get it, I'm just glad that you aren't pretentious like some of the people who come on this sub forum and just label things as trash or not worth watching and then go on to act like their taste is superior and that only the things that they like are good like a certain Thigh Tide who changed their username

I hope the quality equals or exceeds the first season, I love this LN so much!

because after watching anime since 1990 i've got a MUCH greater amount of experience than your average 'Johnny Come Lately' fan. if season 1 can't stand out in my memory... it IS average.

hmm. really? :/ i barely remember S1 ever happening. it was... ok? i vaguely recall the show trying to seem... smart... but it just came off as barely average intellectually.

i am glad the fandom in general is getting a fairly specific 3rd season and a very close to accurate 2nd season pair of dates announcement.

but for me? shrug... if i even re-watch S1 it'll depend on if there was an Edub done. if not, i doubt i'll bother doing a binge of S1 in July in sub, or even trying S2.

Brilliant news
Loved the first season which also made me read the LN as well which i have to say is actually pretty good.

Looking forward to seeing how the rest of their first year and potentially their second years will be animated.

I was recommended the anime by a friend 3 months ago, I downloaded it and stored it on my harddrive 2 months ago and I started watching it a week ago after the S2 announcement, my luck is pretty good since S2 has been announced after 5 years. I really enjoyed S1, especially after that big reveal in the last few minutes. This year is definitely gonna be the biggest year yet for anime

If thats the case then I am glad though I would have preferred his name to not be there at all

NOOOO THEY CHANGED THE COMPOSER FUUUUUCK
The music in the teaser is good but damn i wanted ryo takahashi, and the art looks kinda ugly compared to s1

the new composer is pretty damn good his score for fate apocrypha was incredible + he will probably remix some soundtracks from the first season

So glad about this and seeing vol7 also in there.

I don't want to bother to read LN anymore.. I can't find it translated in my language. Although I understand english, I don't like how it sounds like. 🙄

The same studio picked it up, their animations were good
But, the director of the first season is directing this one too :(
I am hoping he does a better job this time

CQLLIST said:
Oh fuck the same director as season 1? Shit I'm worried now

No need to worry! Season 1's directors are the chief directors this time, not the directors. A chief director just supervises the director and doesn't have as much power as a director. This means that if they want to make changes again, the director will have to approve them first.

This will be so hype.

As someone whose read the LNs, I had a few issues with the first season of COTE so I really hope they dont make some of the same mistakes.

Nonetheless its crazy its happening so soon after being announced! The 3rd season confirmation completely took me by surprise as well
