Anime Project of 'Kami wa Game ni Ueteiru.' Light Novel in Progress

Publishing company Kadokawa announced on Friday that a television anime for Kei Sazane's Kami wa Game ni Ueteiru. (Gods' Game We Play) light novel is in progress.

Synopsis
The supreme Gods who had too much free time created the ultimate brain games "Play of the Gods." Former Goddess Leche awoke from a long slumber and declared to the world, "Bring forth the person who is the best in games in this era!" Fay is nominated to represent humanity as the "best rookie in recent years."

The "Game of the Gods" that is about to begin between the two may be a little too difficult, as there has yet to be a victor throughout human history, because Gods are capricious, very unreasonable, and sometimes completely incomprehensible. However, given the nature of the games, it would be a waste not to have a good time and play with all of one's heart! The ultimate brain battles of a genius gamer boy, a former Goddess, and friends begin!

Sazane began writing the game-themed fantasy novel on the Kakuyomu website in September 2020. Kadokawa began printing the series through its MF Bunko J label in January 2021, featuring illustrations by Toiro Tomose. The third volume shipped last August, with the fourth volume scheduled to ship on January 25.

Monthly Comic Alive began serializing a manga adaptation by Kapiko Toriumi on August 27 last year.

Hold your horses, it's a LN adaptation that isn't an isekai? These still exist? Or is it just one of these where the only difference with an average isekai is the lack of transportation to another world?

This sounds similar to NGNL which is something that I loved, but the fact that you all are saying that this relatively new gets me excited to see this even more

Sounds almost identical to something else I heard of a few months ago. That in itself is a huge red flag. But more so that game stuff rarely seems to work out anyway, since it's always just artificial conflict. I doubt I'll attempt this one.

LN has only been going on for a year so that's a very fast announcement

Don't know much about it but conceptually sounds similar-ish to NGNL so I'll consider that a win
