The 12th and final episode of Beastars ended with an announcement on Thursday that a second season for the anime series is in production.

Synopsis
In a civilized society of anthropomorphic animals, an uneasy tension exists between carnivores and herbivores. At Cherryton Academy, this mutual distrust peaks after a predation incident results in the death of Tem, an alpaca in the school's drama club. Tem's friend Legoshi, a grey wolf in the stage crew, has been an object of fear and suspicion for his whole life. In the immediate aftermath of the tragedy, he continues to lay low and hide his menacing traits, much to the disapproval of Louis, a red deer and the domineering star actor of the drama club.

When Louis sneaks into the auditorium to train Tem's replacement for an upcoming play, he assigns Legoshi to lookout duty. That very night, Legoshi has a fateful encounter with Haru, a white dwarf rabbit scorned by her peers. His growing feelings for Haru, complicated by his predatory instincts, force him to confront his own true nature, the circumstances surrounding the death of his friend, and the undercurrent of violence plaguing the world around him. [Written by MAL Rewrite]

Beastars adapts Paru Itagaki's psychological drama manga, which has been serialized in Shounen Champion since September 2016. Akita Shoten published the 16th volume on December 6.

The television anime adaptation produced by Orange premiered Fuji TV's +Ultra programming block on October 10. Netflix streamed the show exclusively in Japan and plans to release it outside of Japan in early 2020.

VIZ Media licensed the manga in English in 2018 and published the third volume on November 19. The fourth volume will go on sale on January 24, 2020.

To be honest for anyone who doesn’t really understand this series. It’s basically Romeo and Juliet but with a Wolf and a Rabbit.
Actually, not really. Their love has never been forbidden by anyone of their families, look down upon by society ? Yes. But most of the time they limit themselves by their own species/nature.

enough people watched and enjoyed it to have it deserving of a second season according to the industry.

also, with a name like that... i'm not sure your judgment of anime is to be trusted.

in your review you admit it's a "furry anime", so you are very bias and your judgement can't be trusted. You admit to having a fetish.

I'm genuinely happy about beastar getting second season. Previously, i used to loathe when some trashy anime get the second season. Well-deserved one

Haven't seen the last episode of S1 yet, but this has been one of, if not the, best series of the year, so this is fantastic news.
