Web Manga 'Uramichi Oniisan' Receives Anime Adaptation

Publishing company Ichijinsha uploaded a promotional video for the fourth volume of Gaku Kuze's Uramichi Oniisan on Friday, which revealed that the web manga will be getting an anime adaptation. Kuze drew an illustration to commemorate the announcement (pictured).

Synopsis
"Hello, boys and girls! Do you like guys with more than one side to them?"

31-year-old Omota Uramichi is the gymnastics coach in the children's educational TV program "Together with Mama." He might be sweet on the outside, but all boys and girls are inevitably scared off whenever they get a glimpse of the adult darkness that's the result of Uramichi-sensei's emotional instability. This is a tragic eulogy to all the "boys and girls" who are now adults! (Source: MU, edited)

Cast members who voiced the characters in previous promotional videos will reprise their roles.

Uramichi Omota: Hiroshi Kamiya (Saiki Kusuo no Ψ-nan)
Tobikichi Usahara: Tomokazu Sugita (Gintama)
Mitsuo Kumagai: Yuuichi Nakamura (Babylon)
Iketeru Daga: Mamoru Miyano (Chihayafuru)
Utano Tadano: Nana Mizuki (Senki Zesshou Symphogear)

Kuze launched the comedy manga in Ichijinsha and pixiv's Comic POOL in May 2017. Ichijinsha will publish the fourth physical volume on October 29.

So glad to see one of my favorite manga is getting a well deserved anime adaptation, and it is even more exciting to know Kamiyan is voicing Uramichi.

YES, I do. I live for double-faced guys!

Finally! I waited so long and been praying Uramichi-oniisan will be animated. A depressed ikemen dealing with children, I can feel you. It's quite endearing to see hot guys entertain children, it warms my heart. I hope it's not a short like T-sensei on some streaming app.

Really pleased with this news, as the manga has a pretty strong if repetitive sense of humour. Hoping to see someone pick the scanlation of the manga back up in the meantime, as it hasn't been updated for quite a while now.

I'm cautiously optimistic about how it's gonna look, but I adore the manga and I think the humor alone is enough to carry it.

If you love cynical comedy and/or have depression you should definitely give this a look, it's hilarious.
