Anime 'Uchuu Senkan Yamato 2202: Ai no Senshi-tachi' Announces Sequel

The official website for the Uchuu Senkan Yamato 2202: Ai no Senshi-tachi anime series announced a sequel for the franchise. More information will be announced later.

The seven-part anime series continues the story of Uchuu Senkan Yamato 2199, which is a remake of the 1974 TV anime. The series recreated the 1978 sequel series and adopted the subtitle of the 1978 movie in the franchise. The seventh and final part premiered in theaters this March, while the final episode of the TV broadcast, which began last fall, will air tonight. The first concert for the series was also announced for this fall. A stage greeting for the final screening day of the final part was also held on Thursday, where this announcement was also made.

They are not gone. They just called Sunrise Beyond now. Also, both Yamato remakes were made by Xebec+Sunrise collabortation.

2202 as been a major cluster fuck so far to me, loved it early on, will see if the last eps do fix wtf is going on...
Hope this sequel gets this shit right next time!
(plz make me like the cast more, cuz they are all so bland)

Anyway, I'm pleased with a Yamato sequel, also the Orphen's new series and sequels for maid dragon, granblue fantasy, high score girl, etc

Huh, alright then, why not. Just hope it won't take half a decade for it to release all episodes again because it's pretty tedious to watch it like this, even if it's otherwise a good anime
