This could mean one of those things:
1. The adaptation can be as long as 50+ eps, it will be more faithful, but the animation quality will be lower than last season.
2. They cut down the budget since this is a third season.

You don't know what you're talking about. The 2nd season of the anime had dog shit animation with budget cuts all over the place, it was an obvious quick cash grab. First season however looked great, judging from the PV this will look the same as the first season, sure the character designs will be more simplistic but that's no reason to consider an animation downgrade. If they take the Black Clover or Twin Exorcists route and go for a long running adaptation I guess it could work but I highly doubt it after they butchered 144 chapters and crammed them into two seasons and I predict it will be yet another split cour like the prequel. Guess we'll see.

Edit: not to mention that if they adapt that much they will reach chapter 125.. which contains scenes you don't want to broadcast on TV

This slightly worries me. The best thing they could do is adapt up to 31.5 if it's a twelve episode series or adapt up to the end of the Tsukiyama/Rose Arc if it's 24 episodes. Tsukiyama doesn't appear much in the first 31.5 as a healthy person except in Chie's flashback but his flashback design is different than this design. THIS design is the same type of suit he wears for the Tsukiyama/Rose Arc past 31.5.

So either, they're going to do 24 episodes, Which would be nice. 12 episodes and rush it to infinity which would be hell. Or, they'll use this design for the minor flashbacks of healthy Shuu and properly adapt up to 31.5. With Pierrot, it's really hard to determine it.

the only ray of hope for me is Kanae because I really like her character... it's a good VA choice although it wasn't what I had imagined

Nice to see Miyano returning (although that was a given) and Yuu's a good selection as well.

I'm ready for that yandere Yuu voice

Glad that Mamoru Miyano is coming back xP Huehue. It's not big news since it's expected but still.

The design of those two characters looks cheap.
