A teaser website for Kakuriyo no Yadomeshi has launched and announced that the novel series by Midori Yuuma will be getting a TV anime adaptation for 2018.

Kakuriyo no Yadomeshi is a novel series written by Midori Yuuma and illustrated by Laruha that started its release in April 2015 via Kadokawa's Fujimi L Bunko imprint. There are six compiled volumes released, with the seventh volume to go on sale on November 15. A manga version drawn by Wako Ioka began its serialization via Kadokawa's Comic B's-LOG in May 2016 and currently has 3 compiled volumes released. The story is about an university student, Aoi Tsubaki, who has the ability to see Ayakashi. She is forced to marry an Oni due to her grandfather's debt, but she doesn't want to marry him. Instead, she decides to work in Kakuriyo, which is owned by her Oni fiance Oodanna, to pay back the debt and to serve Ayakashi customers such as Oni and fox.

I really can't recall when was the last time I saw an anime with a married couple involving the protagonist(s) which is close to nonexistent in anime. Not like those at the very end of the story but from the beginning or somewhere along the story that continued. The last ones I can remember are [Bakuman], [Clannad After Story] and [Itazura na Kiss].
If that's what you want, how about trying [saiunkoku monogatari]? IIRC the protagonist is not married BUT she's the emperor's concubine pretty much from the start, so that's pretty close.

Thanks for the recommendation. Although I have already seen [Sainunkoku] and [Soredemo Sekai] where the protagonists are engaged. I was hoping there would be an anime that actually showed married protagonist(s). I have noticed that it's a big NO NO for adaptation of stories showing married protagonist(s). Even bestsellers like [Otoyomegatari], [P to JK], [Toshokan Sensou Bessatsu-hen] and etc. are regularly overlooked when it comes to anime adaptation. This trend of overlooking stories such as these have continued for a long while. That is why I was pretty excited when I first read the news only to find out it wasn't the case.

@shanimebib I'm sorry about that, I only read the simple description on Moca News and did that summary. I've fixed it a bit.

No biggy. Thanks for updating the summary. I really can't recall when was the last time I saw an anime with a married couple involving the protagonist(s) which is close to nonexistent in anime. First time I've heard about this series before. Might give it a try.

I wonder what studio will take on this project though.

Though the setting is super cliched, could be a fun show anyway

Are you sure that's not Tomoe?
Anyways, i plan to watch either way.

It's similar to Gochiusa and Konohana Kitan, hopefully there's not any fujoshi content in it.

When I read the description in the news, I was ecstatic. There aren't many anime out there that actually show the protagonists as married couple, in romance, or slice of life genre, be it ordinary or ayakashi, you name it. So, I was excited until I did a bit of reading and I realized that is not the case.

Aoi offers her cooking ability to open up a restaurant to pay off her grandfather's debt instead of getting married to Oni, who is the master of the household. So, yeah. They are NOT married (/sighs). But given how hunk of an Oni her husband-to-be is, I am sure romance will come into play sooner or later.

Yeah nice, I'm in. Fingers crossed it will be good

Shouldn't it be "her grandfather"? So another anime Twilight, i. e. Mahoutsukai no Yome? Fujo is spreading like a plague.

Fujoshi has nothing to do with it. They are like girls from tumbler, they are not very interested in too traditional heterosexual romance, they like titles more where they can search for homoerotic subtext between two boys or two girls.

A good looking Oni and Kitsune, count me in. All head over heels for demon boys especially. ❤
