A little reading comprehension on your part would be nice. The anime pushed the series into one of the most profitable franchises in Japan this year despite the low BD/DVD sales. The ratings brought exposure to the series and all other manner of merchandises increased in sales despite the low BD/DVD sales. This is the same for One Piece and was the same for Naruto Shippuden, Hitman Reborn, Bleach, and so on. MHA was not in the top selling media franchises ijn Japan before the anime aired.
>The anime pushed the series into one of the most profitable franchises in Japan this year despite the low BD/DVD sales
No shit.
This thread is about the BD/dvd sales, and I'm saying how much of a flop these sales were.
And some people pulling shit from their asses and say "the ratings matter more Than bd/dvd sales without real evidence or some shit.
I know that it was one of the most profitable anime of this year due to the manga sales mainly and some other things, but in these sales it was a huge flop
Nobody argued against that. They said, regardless of the low sales, the anime still did its job and you claimed there was no evidence to suggest this. Which I showed to you.

Next time, just ask.
So where do they say that "ratings are more important than BD/dvd sales"?

The BR/DVD sales were even lower then.

Ergo, ratings matter more than BD/DVD sales because it brings exposure to the franchise so other forms can be bring in profit.

It's the tv ratings that matter.Disc sales are only bonus at this point. How do you think One piece became one of the most profitable anime of all time with only 800-1000 disc sales?
One piece Blu Ray Box which called "log collection" still sold around 13 K per box... it usually contain 20 episode or so (depend on arc)... we don't know yet how much blu ray box BnHA do...
It's only 4 episodes a box plus a drama CD. So it's not very shocking that the sales aren't reaching top chart and they're releasing them as slow as ever.

I thought BnHA was super popular in Japan? Sales seem to be average.
The sales are almost just like Noragami's , but BnHA still gets a third season. :')

There's no official source that says "ratings are more important", it might be just for the merchandiz or the manga

This is a little misleading. For late night shows (almost all anime not aimed at kids) BDs/DVDs matter a lot and TV ratings are irrelevent. (Because you dont get ratings at 1am anyway) kids shows like BnHA and OP, however, have manga sales and TV ratings as much better guides to its popularity. Parents dont buy expensive blu rays but they will buy manga and the kids with watch cartoons in the mornings (making ratings important)
Can you give some link about this? cause i have information saying that the rating for Late anime show are usually really important (and bd/dvd are important too, but in the late years the rating seems to be really important for late anime show too)
