Second Season of 'Kaijuu Girls: Ultra Kaijuu Gijinka Keikaku' Announced

The official website of Kaijuu Girls: Ultra Kaijuu Gijinka Keikaku has revealed that the short anime series will receive a second season. The new season will both air on TV and stream via dAnime Store in January 2018.

The main cast and staff members will reprise their roles from the first season, with the addition of new characters. Guts Seijin (Alien Guts) from the Ultra Seven TV series will join the series as the first new character.

Furthermore, the first season will broadcast on Tokyo MX starting October 3. The anime shorts streamed online between September and December in 2016. Crunchyroll simulcast the series worldwide except Asia.

Produced by Studio PuYUKAI, the anime is a part of Tsuburaya Productions' "Ultra Kaiju Gijinka Keikaku" project, which remodels monsters and aliens that have appeared in the Ultra Series into cute anthropomorphized monsters.

Wow. Of all the shorts that could have gotten a second season they choose this. It was mediocre at best.

Yes!! The characters were really cute and sweet in many ways. Despite the skimpy outfits, I was surprised to find it didn't try to emphasize them. Instead, they just had some cute characters trying to get something done. It was really nice! I remember Summer 2016 didn't have too many things that moved me much. This ended up serving as a nice breath of relief. Hopefully with a second season, they can make it even better.

Wasn't expecting a second season for this, so why not? I thought it was a fun little series. :)

Would really like to see what the new Kaijuu characters will look like. And I hope my favorite seiyuus would earn some roles for this sequel.

One of the first titles I watched on my Fall 2016 anime spree where I attempted to watch every anime xd

It was cute I appreciate that it's getting a second season
