Manga 'Gurazeni' Receives TV Anime Adaptation

The 17th issue of this year's Morning magazine has announced on Thursday that Yuuji Moritaka and Keiji Adachi's Gurazeni baseball manga will receives a TV anime adaptation in 2018 exclusively on BS Sky PerfecTV.

Synopsis
This is the story of Natsunosuke Honda, a pro baseball player—a relief pitcher who has been playing pro in a team called Spiders for 8 years and is one of the highest paid players in the game. He measures how good players are by how much money they make, and he intends to be on top and stay there, and as such is always looking for players to challenge and does everything to insure that he is better than they are.

Gurazeni was serialized in Kodansha's Morning magazine for 17 volumes between December 2010 and August 2014. The manga was one of the two winners of the Kodansha Manga Award for General Manga in 2013 alongside Prison School. The series placed second in the 2012 "Kono Manga ga Sugoi!" annual rankings under the male readers' category, and seventh in the fifth Manga Taisho Award. A sequel titled Gurazeni: Tokyo Dome-hen began its serialization in the same magazine in September 2014. Kodansha will publish the tenth volume on March 23.

Sports Anime are always welcomed in my book. And this one seems to have a twist to it plus the source is even finished!

I saw Adachi and baseball couldn't hit PTW fast enough.
May not be Mitsuru, but this looks really promising.
Adapting a finished manga is the cherry on top.

I heard that the manga goes really deep into all the nerdy stuff in baseball like Sabermetrics, so I'm looking forward to it.

I don't know about that. This has a comedy tag attached to its genre and I don't think how that could be the same as Shinobu-sensei's psychological masterpiece.
