Shoujo Romance Manga 'Ore Monogatari!!' to End

The July 2016 issue of Shueisha's Bessatsu Margaret magazine, which goes on sale on June 13, has published the penultimate chapter of shoujo romance manga Ore Monogatari!!.

Mangaka Masako Shitara, who drew a tribute special in the magazine's latest issue, also revealed that the series will end in the next issue on July 13. An announcement on the official website of Bessatsu Margaret indicates that the final chapter will have center color pages and be 100 pages in length.

Ore Monogatari!!, which is licensed by North American publisher VIZ Media in English as My Love Story!!, is written by Kazune Kawahara and drawn by Aruko. The series has been publishing in Bessatsu Margaret since 2011 and placed first in the 2013 Kono Manga ga Sugoi! rankings among female readers. It also received the 37th Kodansha Manga Award for best shoujo manga in 2013 and the 61st Shogakukan Manga Award for the same category in 2015.

An anime adaptation aired over two quarters in 2015, and a live-action film adaptation opened in theaters in Japan last October.

Damn, I see this news just hours after buying a 12 volume set?

The anime is cute (excellent for people who do stuff while watching as there is not too much going on- was actually able to finish a baby quilt while watching) and from the previews I saw the manga looks great too. The language is super easy which is why I bought it for reading practice.

It's nice when a series doesn't overstay its welcome. Wish all the best to the mangaka.

I wish Kawahara Kazune sensei writes more classic like high school debut, with the ending of OreMono, which is still quite good but is lacking a bit of flair.

P.S. wow I didn't realize Aozora Yell has ended its serialization. Just checked Baka-Updates, it will take ages for it to be completely translated. ): But it's great news that she's free now to write a new romance shoujo! I just wish some scanlation group would pick up her work.

well this is sad news as this series is really one of my all time fave series but at the same time while i dont want it to end... now would be the best time to end the series even if this series could go on even longer with the story of this series

i only wish the rest of vol 10, and vol 11, and vol 12 , and of course the final chapter would get translated but it seems like no one is doing this series anymore but still got the raws and so am looking forward to seeing how they will end the series

Huh, I dropped the anime, so I don't plan to read the manga any time soon. But I do see they're gonna do a lot for the final chapter, good for them.

I actually think this is one of the better romances. I think it's lack of drama it's actually it's strong suit. Drama ruins romance because no one wants that, not to mention in real life drama in romance barely exists. I've been with someone for a long time and so have most of my friends and none of us have experienced dumb shit like the stuff that happens in other anime/manga. This is a perfect example of SoL/Romance, which is very unique and a reason Ore Monogatari is a top romance manga.

^pretty much this. the utter lack of any conflict after the first few episodes/chapters make it feel as if the series long outlasted its welcome. while it was alright at first, i felt as if dragging the series like the way it did failed to achieve anything worthwhile. and even in spite of that, it didn't seem like it did any of the other characters any justice either with them staying relatively flat throughout the series. overall, it was really disappointing for me.
