So μ's final single, MOMENT RING, has outsold BokuHikari by 830 copies based on the daily Oricon sales. All depends now on what level of "weekly Oricon sales correction" it receives on whether it can achieve that 100K first week sales for a CD.

MOMENT RING would need a 6.27% weekly Oricon correction to get 100K first week sales.

Would be a great achievement but sadly, Muse won't be the one to do it. 35K sales on the first day which will drop, just isn't going to be enough. Won't get 100K in the first week, will be lucky to hit 150K so 250K is just out of the realm of possibilities.

Not possible, since Muse is against the mainstream KAT-TUN. Platinum disc is very unlikely, since the highest a Love Live CD has reached is the Best Live collection II at 144,471 Oricon sales and counting. Perhaps if it can reach 170~180K Oricon sales, it might get a platinum disc certification from the RIAJ, as the disc certifications are based on shipped copies, while Oricon only counts sold copies. Shipped copies is >= sold copies, as not all shipped copies are bought by consumers unless the CD has a stock shortage.

There have been many CDs that have received gold disc certifications from the RIAJ for shipping > 100K copies, while their Oricon sales have been much lower at ~70K or so, that's why I think 170~180K Oricon sales may be enough for platinum disc certification from the RIAJ.

Oh well.. why is it µ's always fights mainstream like akb lol They already got a couple of rank 1 so I guess I'm cool with that. top 2 is enough then.

I want them to reach the coveted platinum disc, I mean they are the first idol group tie in an anime that did a lot of mainstream achievements - Kouhaku, Tokyo Dome, Music Station, Japan Gold Disc Award.. being the first to get the platinum disc is a nice addition to countless awards they got

Platinum disc is 250K. That is a stretch even for Muse. Unless a lot of fans buy 9 copies for the bonus posters of each Muse member it will likely not go over even 140K.

Put simply... Arashi is the only group that can crush AKB48's track record effortlessly (y) If you are familiar with the size of AKB48 and their popularity, you will know how big arashi is lol

I think Yurika could beat Yukarin... as early as next week! She has done amazingly well for her first single. The Nico Nico show, her own web show must have helped. Good marketing from Pony Canyon.

Arashi is one of the popular pop group in Japan and is under Johnny's entertainment. They sings lots of songs with tie-up, but mostly J-Dorama theme songs.
