Manga 'Sousei no Onmyouji' Gets TV Anime Adaptation

The January 2016 issue of Jump SQ, which will go on sale on December 4, revealed that a TV anime adaptation of Sousei no Onmyouji (Twin Star Exorcists) is in production.

The series is drawn by Yoshiaki Sukeno and currently has six volumes in print. It has been serialized by Jump SQ magazine since November 2013.

Synopsis
Rokuro is from a family of exorcists, but he'd rather be a singer, a soccer player or anything but an exorcist! He's forced to own up to his own incredible potential when new arrival Benio stirs his competitive spirit. But their rivalry gets a twist when they earn the prestigious title of "Twin Star Exorcists"—two supreme fighters fated to marry and birth the ultimate spiritual warrior!

After reading the manga I will confirm that this is a cringily edgy shonen. Gonna be watching, not gonna be enjoying.

Everyone keeps nagging on the character design, and I am assuming they mean the clothes they are wearing in the picture. But if you actually read the manga, then just judging it, you would know that's not what they actually wear when they fight.

on a side note, I cannot wait! Really love the manga! ovo

This is one of my favorite new series as of right now and I'm super excited to see that it managed to get an anime

I'm just hoping that it gets a good studio to adapt it because this manga is pretty good and highly entertaining

A heated debate :D I am gonna give this anime a try, though without any particular reason. Just have to keep the current library of animes fresh I guess ;) ( Just to be clear, I haven't read manga so this is gonna be my first try + everything's new)

Dunno why the manga art has anything to do with the anime unless Toei pick it up.. Then the panels will be colored in on paint put into slideshow view and recorded with bandicam. gotta love Toei

Sounds quite nice! I will definitely take a look at it! Unfortunately right now I don't really have time for many new series so I have to be very choosy when it comes to what I watch ;)

Meh. The manga was interesting until chapters 8 when it slowly degenerates into piles of shounen cliches, some bullshit DEMs and random superpowers, and wangsty backstories. I can't even get invested in the plot (which already very silly to begin with) with so much explosions and destructions on every single pages. The only saving grace is the dumb antics between the duo leads, and that's not saying much as i dislike the guy.

The only chance the anime will be watchable is by cranking up the wangstiness and explosions up to eleven and making it as cheesy as possible that it becomes "so bad it's good".

Checked out the first 2 chapters. Nothing particularly fresh or interesting but the character designs aren't as ugly the keyart or some pictures here make them seem.
They do look like 8 though...
