An official website has opened for an anime movie adaptation of the manga series Koukaku no Pandora: Ghost Urn, which is written by Masamune Shirow (Ghost in the Shell) and illustrated by Koshi Rikudo (Excel Saga).

The manga began serialization in the November 2012 issue of Newtype Ace magazine before moving to Kadokawa Niconico Ace the following year. There are six volumes in print, and Seven Seas Entertainment has licensed the series for publication in North America.

Koukaku no Pandora will open on December 5, 2015, for two-week screenings at Kadokawa Cinema Shinjuku in Tokyo, Fushimi Million-za in Nagoya, and Umeda Burg 7 in Osaka.

In an age when large-scale natural disasters frequently happen all over the world, when cyborgs and autonomous robots are beginning to appear on the market in technologically advanced nations, and major world powers compete for technology and resources, the divide between rich and poor grows and the future for the poor looks bleak. In this transitional stage, everyone wanders around in a self-indulgent daze and the way out isn't clear... This is the story of how two cybernetically enhanced girls meet. (Source: MU)

Shirow must be a shit writer if it's not for his sci-fi Universes. He was not a great writer even back then, it's just his heavenly art and gag characters that helped a lot.

Woah the staff is pretty awful. Be it director, script writer or studio...

Masamune Shirow sci fi ecchi manga adapted by 3rd rate people.
Probably a must see trainwreck of poorly executed interesting concepts and ideas.
Would not give a fk if it wasn't for Shirow

Sidonia did it right and set the benchmark for what would be acceptable.

Wasn't having Major's ass hanging out enough for this guy? Staff seems experienced with ecchi. It's just a movie so I'll probably watch it.

Eh I read the manga long awhile ago, don't remember much about it. Given the context, a movie could work, I guess?

When I saw R-15, I thought it will be Takuya Fujima character design but its not :/

The sci-fi setting seems interesting but that production staff makes me hope less. Still something that might worth looking forward.
