Manga 'Flying Witch' Gets TV Anime Adaptation

An official website has opened for a TV anime adaptation of fantasy slice-of-life manga Flying Witch. The series is written and illustrated by Chihiro Ishizuka. It began serialization in Bessatsu Shounen Magazine in August 2012 and was originally published as a one-shot in 2007.

The series follows 15-year-old Makoto Kowata who moves from Yokohama to sleepy Aomori in northern Japan in order to train as a witch. While living with second cousins Kei and Chinatsu, she enjoys her daily life with the other boys and girls in the area. Flying Witch will air on the NTV and Aomori Broadcasting networks.

J.C. Staff are confirmed

The February issue of Kadokawa's Monthly Newtype magazine is reporting on Saturday that the studio J.C. Staff is producing the television anime of Chihiro Ishizuka's Flying Witch manga for an April premiere. Katsushi Sakurabi (Gunparade March, Heaven's Memo Pad, Lunar Legend Tsukihime) is directing the anime off scripts by Deko Akao (Arakawa Under the Bridge, Noragami, Pretty Rhythm Aurora Dream, Snow White with the Red Hair). Masato Yasuno (episode animation director on Little Busters!, Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon?) is designing the characters.

Better to read the parts of the manga that's translated. That's worth 19 chapters.

That reminds me. The series is released every other issue of the magazine it's serialized in. Prepare to see this anime as a bunch of shorts, unless they do something about the seemingly insufficient source material.
