Madhouse animation studio has announced the development of an original sci-fi love story anime television series titled Kaiba to be directed by acclaimed director Masaaki Yuasa. His previous directorial works include Mind Game and Kemonozume and he co-created Cat Soup. This will be his second series as director. Kaiba is scheduled to air in April on Japan's WOWOW channel.

Cant wait to see what this is like. Really liked Mind Game and at the least Cat Soup was interesting.

Yeah, I'm already excited, didn't think he would get another shot to do a tv series that soon. Masaaki Yuasa is truly one of the most brilliant and imaginative people in the business and it's nice to see that Madhouse continues to produce original high budget works by the likes of him or Iso. I kinda hope it will be a longer show, something like Noein's 24 episodes, just think of the possibilities.

I'm really looking forward to it. Masaaki Yuasa's work is truly one of a kind.
