Synopsis:
Oriki Hotaro is a high school boy, who always acts passively. One day, he enters "Koten Bu (Classic Literature Club)" as recommended by his elder sister. There he meets Chitanda Eru, Fukube Satoshi, and Ibara Mayaka. Chitanda is a calm beautiful girl but she turns into an embodiment of curiosity once she says, "I'm interested in it (Watashi, Kininarimasu)". Fubube is a smiling boy who excels in memory, but he never constructs his own deduction. Ibara is a short girl and is strict with others and herself. She loves Fubube, but he always dodges her approach. They begin to investigate a case that occurred 33 years ago. Hints of the mystery is buried in an old collection of works of the former members of Koten Club. The collection is titled "Hyouka".

This idea got viral after Endless Eight, that surely it wasn't KyoAni's fault, but the EEEEVIL suits at publishing forced them to stretch it over more disc. Ever since that, Kadokawa is blamed for all negative aspects of KyoAni.

Personally, I think that it's far-fetched. EE itself appeared exactly like what a trollish studio would do after getting high, and wanting to do something uniqe, not a conservative publishing house's planned business model.

Aki Toyosaki (K-On's Yui) will make an apperance in this series. I think I mentioned this under Aki-chan's entry on MAL.

Kadokawa is a huge publisher/distributor of manga, novels, anime, games, etc. They and their subsidiaries have a near monopoly on the light novel market.

The idea that Kadokawa "controls" Kyoto Animation is mostly based on the fact that many of KyoAni's anime (Haruhi and Nichijou for example) have been distributed by Kadokawa, not on any actual ownership stake of Kadokawa in KyoAni, or any other concrete evidence I'm aware of, though there may be some. However it's worth pointing out that KyoAni's most successful property ever, and one on which they've spend much time in the last few years, is K-ON!, which has no involvement from Kadokawa at all. The manga is published by Houbunsha, while the anime and music are both distributed by Pony Canyon.

Kadokawa and KyoAni certainly seem to have a close relationship and Kadokawa likes using KyoAni for animating their properties (e.g. the upcoming Hyouka), but I don't know what if any conclusions can be drawn beyond that.

wow... that is some dedication by key.

if you dont mind, could you tell us who Kadokawa is and why he/she/it makes the decision?

lol you don't know anything. Kyoani is currently just a slave of Kadokawa. Seriously, this is TEN YEARS OLD novel. I can't believe that it is 'KYOANI' that is animating this. It doesn't matter it is light novel or not. Kyoani's still under Kadokawa's direction and they will just animate whatever thing that Kadokawa asks to do.

because of Kadokawa...little busters! anime will not possible for now...and also key declined aniplex offer for little busters! anime...becuase they really want KyoAni to do it

The usual team, not surprised. Probably it will something KyoAni standards. But, Tanaka Kohei as the music composition?

Also, dat design character. Its not particular at all, c'mon KyoAni...

You forgot Little Busters! Though I suppose it's been mentioned enough in this thread (as it will any KyoAni announcement thread until it is announced itself).

I'm kinda iffy on the art change. Sure we get some quality (usual) Kyoani, but we don't get the artsy fartsy novel style
