Satellite made White Album 2, which looks/sounds pretty similar to this, so I do have a bit of hope that this will work out in the end.

based on the character design in the manga, initially i thought that kyoani style wouldnt fit, now that satelight take this project i have high hope that they'll turn this manga to be a good anime.

while satelight works in mecha thing is kinda amazing (macross, 0048) i do worry with their SoL quality. take example of WA2 , start with a very good animation, it kinda drop around the climax (episode 9-10).

well, it just down to how much money they're willing to spend with this franchise to revive it.

why the hate towards Satelight? if the studio making the anime is not Madhouse,KyoShit then its guaranteed to suck? are you guys stupid or what?

So what were you remembering when you said this?

Satelight?... for real? I wonder if they can handle this... Well, at least we got more Haruhi... or Nagato.

Did you watch Disappearance?

No offense but......what part of "even after the movie came out" do I have to explain?
By the way, I saw the movie 4 times!!
But, dropped the second series (more like gave up) after the 5th turn of the ENDLESS EIGHT.
If KyoAni treated the second series with HALF the care they did with the first series and the movie,
we Haruhi fans STILL wouldn't be waiting for a third series and we wouldn't be so anxious for this one!!

Any chance this will get an English dub? I thought the English voice cast was good.

Except that Endless Eight was written after Disappearance...

So you wanted E8 to be a movie?
Actually...yeah. It would have been better than releasing it as 8 different episodes. You've never seen Groundhog Day, have you? Still, that has nothing to do with what I said, which was me telling you that 8 had no bearing on Disappearance being a movie.

I've watched Endless 8 all the way through every single time I re-watched Haruhi...well, since it was released anyway. Even still, I acknowledge it as one of the biggest examples of laziness in anime. Nothing but filler for a "season."

I don't have a ton of complaints about Kyoani as an animation studio, but so far I've never enjoyed a single anime animated by them (with a possible exception). Might as well finish up Haruhi Suzumiya by watching the movie, and I guess this one too. Hopefully they will make up for the two tiring seasons before them.

Good luck to Satelight! Show Studio DEEN what you got!

Pretty sad KyoAni isn't animating this, so here's to hoping the Satelight does a good job because I'm looking forward to this.

Satelight, huh. Not bad.
KyoAni abandoned us.

It's funny seeing so many people saying it's going to suck just because it's not KyoAni. Satelight has been behind some pretty good shows over the last decade. Macross Frontier ring a bell? It's not like their animation sucks. Watch Macross Zero for instance. The first episode of that OVA predates Haruhi by 4 years and looked great. And I haven't seen a huge problem with their story presentation from the shows I've seen by them.

It would have been even funnier to see people crying out for Deen like this when ufotable announced they were going to do UBW.

Hellsing Ultimate (2006, OVA series, episode 1-4)
Macross Frontier (2008, TV series)
Fairy Tail (2009–2013, TV series, co-production with A-1 Pictures)
Bodacious Space Pirates (2012, TV series)
Aquarion Evol (2012, TV series)
Log Horizon (2013, TV series)

Alright, certainly not a bad resume. I can see where you are coming from.
