The Second Airing of Haruhi Is Confirmed To Be a 28 Episode Series

Online magazine Gigazine inquired from TV Saitama about the "reairing" of "The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya" and confirmed there will be 28 episodes. The staff of TV Saitama didn't know the order of the episodes and when the new episodes will be aired.

J-Cast also interviewed TV Saitama and reported that the new episodes will be aired after the final episode of the first season. However, J-Cast suggested that we must stay alert until the new episode is actually aired considering the previous trolls of Kadokawa.

The first episode of "The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya" was re-aired on Sun TV channel on April 3rd. It was the episode 1 in the chronological order "Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuuutsu I". The animation of the main story was switched with the DVD version. The OP and ED animation were the same as the previous airing.

When i heard this i wasn't sure what to make of it, as there is clearly not much on it, but i'm now wondering if they will show the second season straight after. To be honest it wouldn't surprise me.

And whats with this "filler" malarky anyway? There has been no filler whatsoever with Haruhi so far, all has been canon, and the short stories have fairly big affects on the storyline. Best chapter to back that up with is "Bamboo Leaf Rhapsody", heck without that disappearance would end completely differently.

I hope they are not going to mix the apparently new season episodes with the older ones. That would be just a mess and make you wait for all the episodes every week, just to see if they are new stuff or not.

I think Kadokawa executives bet someone they could create 1000 news stories on Haruhi.

I mean seriously, there's new news every week (most of it contradicting the earlier news).

well ignoring season1, there will be 16 new episode content (hopefully)
confirmed content will be the entire disappearance novel. the others will probably lead up to it + extras

Personally, I think that they're going to show both the first and second seasons at once, and show them all in order of the novels. Which is why I think Episode "0" wasn't shown first.

Kadokawa is getting good at trolling, their leading executives must have acquire the skill off of MAL. One way or the other, I still hope the second season actually does exist...
