US Premiere Date of Ponyo

Walt Disney will premiere "Gake no Ue no Ponyo (Ponyo on a Cliff)" in US on August 14th. This is the fourth time for Studio Ghibli's films to be shown nationwidely in US.

Despite its popularity, Ghibli films have never been a big hit in US. Even the most successful title. "Spirited Away" only earned $10 million, which was 30 times smaller than its income in Japan.

Lookin forward to it, didn't watch the subs yet since the dubs for Miyazaki films are always great.

Oh, I am so buying tickets as soon as they're available. I've missed out on 2 other Ghibli movies, and I'm not missing this one!

Maybe if Disney actually advertised these movies they would be much more successful. Don't know why Lasatter doesn't push more

Will see it. After all, I'm a big fan of Miyazaki's work and this one looks like a good throwback to his earlier work.
