'Fuun Ishin Dai Shogun' TV Anime Announced Airing April 2014

A new series titled Fuun Ishin Dai Shogun has been announced and will air April 2014. An image on the official site shows off the first key visual for the series.

Synopsis:
In the late Edo period, Japan had experienced an unprecedented crisis by Kurofune (Black Ships), the ships from foreign countries. But a giant robot called Onigami, which has existed since ancient time, dispelled the Kurofune ships and the exclusion of foreigners was accomplished. The story begins in Japan where Meiji restoration in 1868 didn't happen. The tagline says, "I can be the greatest man in the world, because I am a virgin!!" (Source: Crunchyroll)

ACGT's work is far worse overall (whether they're producing their own series or working as an episode contractor). That they've been hired isn't surprising though given their existing relationship with Takashi Watanabe.

I am pretty sure their escapist daydreams are the reason for these kind of anime to exist.

Ok....that DID put me off but yeah, I'm gonna keep dreaming until I see more characters. Most likely this will be mecha with history with ecchi which could still work out btw, but I'll try and keep my hopes up.

The mecha part is a bit concerning and wtf is with the tagline? The only conclusion to that I can see is Onigami can only be powered or even piloted by virgins.

I'll give it a try because the girl on the left looks like she has a fox tail, and me so it shows with kitsune girls. plus me a sucker for edo period stuff, but I'm a bit worried about the whole mecha part mixed in it.
