Bones' Original Anime 'Captain Earth' Announced for Spring 2014

The official site for "Captain Earth" launched and announced that it will be broadcasted in Spring 2014.

Rough Translation of the Synopsis
One night right before summer vacation, Daiji Manatsu, a second-year in high school, sees a weird round rainbow floating in the sky above Seed Island (Shuushi/Tane Island) and ventures there alone. He has seen this rainbow before. With the memories of his father's mysterious death and an encounter of a mysterious boy and girl, Daiji arrives on the island while the alarm of a building labeled "Earth Engine" is going off. Someone asks him "Are you a captain?" just as robotic intruders from Uranus called "Kiltgang" arrive. The battle around the shining stars is about to begin.

Hopefully this isn't like stardriver. I like the mecha design from the PV. Added it a while back since I keep an eye on bones, but I must repeat how much I hope it's not like star driver.

Character designs aren't really that impressive but....

Kamiya Hiroshi? SOLD! Not to mention Miyu-Miyu is finally getting a main role! >o<

I hope there are more male characters in this anime. I also hope that the anime won't be a stupid love triangle with the main guy and the two girls...we don't want another Valvrave. That would be a disappointment.

Leave it to bones to deliver gorgeous 2D Mecha animation. Really loving the looks of this. 2014 is starting to be a great year for Anime, First Space Dandy, now this? Whats next.. a Cowboy Bebop reboot?
