French documentaries and Jojo winning the grand prize instead of Shingeki? That's more like it!

I'm also glad to see Uchouten in the anime and Soredemo in the manga category of "excellence". The other nominees are also interesting, it's good to see Kick-Heart among them.

Your obsession with SnK is unhealthy. Are you Korean?

No, I am just glad the Jury is giving other anime and manga a chance as well. A lot of the popular awards will be going to Shingeki while other great series are neglected. A bit more diversity is always welcomed!

i like the pony canyon awards list best my self

^That's a good thing about JMAF - they don't really care about popularity.

Actually SnK is hugely popular in Korea (at least the non-communist South).

Animation Division
Grand Prize:
JUNG / Laurent BOILEAU from Belgium / France (Documentary animated film)
Jung / Laurent Boileau are the names of the author and the director, NOT the film's name. The title of the animated film is "Approved for Adoption" (French: Couleur de peau: miel) and is about the true story of a Korean orphan from the Korean War adopted by a Belgian family.

This is the synopsis I found from an art festival website:

Skilled Korean graphic novelist Jung was only five years old when he was adopted by a Belgian family who raised him as one of their own. Through a mixture of live action footage and his own beautiful animation, the adult Jung shares his story of growing up in a world where he always felt different from the rest. Funny and touching, this memoir documentary explores the complex issue of identity in a multicultural world.

Just a note:

Golden Time is NOT the TV series currently running but an anime short film. The Japanese page of the official site has a screenshot of it (which the English page does not have): http://j-mediaarts.jp/awards/excellence_award?locale=ja&section_id=3 (it is the one below Uchouten Kazoku

Also, given the eligibility criteria (Sep 21 2012 to Sep 12 2013), films like the latest Madoka movie are not qualified for consideration this year.
