^screw you. There are people out there who have it much much worse.
6 chapters ain't nothing compared to 10 volumes I got to wait for. plus some people even got it worse than me.

Anyways, It seriously sucks that so many manga series are coming to an end. :(
I've skimmed that series with my friend before... It's definantly the type of series I'd never read outside. (´・_・`)

I've noticed quite a few manga in the ecchi category are ending abruptly due to self censorship just in case the new legislation passes this Fall. It's the true reason Ro-Kyu-Bu ended.

Another manga end announcement, dunno what to say i just hope for a good ending.

The anime wasted my time, so I don't have much expectations for the manga either.

Can't say I care too much, nano.

BTW, I am sure that manga end all the time, but its just this year that some of em has ben brought to attention of this forum

We need the previous few years ago's data to put things into perspective :)
Any list of titles ending in 2010~2012 ?

No problem with this title ending.
Just think of the latest chapters as a longer epilogue story.

And yes, so many of the dragged titles need to be ended for new stories to come in. Don't want those mangaka to turn into a one-hit wonder that keep enjoying one franchise and drag the story to avoid making conclusion to the problems they have made all these years for their characters.

Urgh. Wonder what new series will come after all these series end?

Good manga. It's a shame. At this point I can't really be surprised if anything else ended

What a shame, haven't touched the manga yet but I've seen the anime.

Well popularity is dependent on time. It's just because now anime and manga is more popular due to widespread online evangelism. Note that these series also came within the same "generation" or "wave" that benefited from the anime/manga "boom" on MAL (not by start time but by popularity). Thus, expect "popular" series in the future to end in very regular intervals and very frequently. There will be a next wave of series that will become popular and the cycle will go on.

Also, it's ABOUT TIME some manga ends. I would have been EXTREMELY happy if 90% of the manga series that are dragging on to end in order to let some fresher stories from the same authors come.

I definitely agree on all your points.

I too would be happy if the manga that are dragging on would just end as well.

Has somebody already made a list of manga, which ended this year?

Nothing special. A lot of manga ends every year. MAL news team just seem to start advertising them more this year. Before, they didn't really care.

I think it's because there have been so many POPULAR manga that have been ending lately that people are really surprised by the amount that are ending.

Let's look at MAL's popularity rankings for manga:

http://myanimelist.net/topmanga.php?type=bypopularity

Now let's see some of the manga that have ended this year corresponding to their popularity on MAL:

#9 Vampire Knight (ended May 2013)

#14 Soul Eater (ended August 2013)

#17 GANTZ (ended June 2013)

#18 Dengeki Daisy (Ending October 2013)

#19 Kaichou wa Maid-Sama (Ending September 2013)

#21 Deadman Wonderland (Ended July 2013)

^That's 6 manga in the top 21 that have all ended within months of each other.

This is why people are talking about it so much.

From some time ago i kept expecting Omamori Himari to actually grow from mere harem story into more epic battle like Rosario Vampire. But alas, instead it just kept repeating the same hijinks over and over again. The male lead also took forever to grow genuine spine, unlike Tsukune from Rosario which became very likeable and dependable on later chapters.

Hence i'm just cool that the manga ends. It leaves too many things to be desired of
