Kimi ni Todoke Live-action TV Drama Confirmed

According to Rakuten online shop website, a live action TV drama based on Shiina Karuho's manga "Kimi ni Todoke" will be aired in April 2009.

Kimi ni Todoke has been published in Bessatsu Marguerite since 2005 and won the 32nd Kodansha Manga Award Shoujo Manga category in 2008.

I was pretty shocked myself when I found about the drama. What's even more shocking is I found out Miura Haruma (Bloody Monday, Binbo Danshi, Gokusen 3, Samurai High School...) and Mikako Tabe (Yasuko to Kenji) is gonna star as the two main characters.
And I learnt it's going to be released around September 2010.

I know this is old news but did this ever air or end up being true? I don't recall seeing this among the list of dramas that aired during the Spring 2009.

It's awesome that both an anime and live-action will be made. I hope they pick someone who hasn't been discovered for the role of Sadako because it will be more interesting to watch.

But I think it would be fun to see Kii Kitano for the role of Sadako, she's a great actress so I think she could pull it off.

So true, but its not really "nowadays" it's been like that for a while. It's just nice to see a familiar name that i can look forward to for the spring season :) So many of the manga -> drama adaptations I watch I don't realize come from manga until after ive started watching it (Like yasuko to kenji, one pound gospel, bambino, and bloody monday for example)
