More a lack of updates than anything. The only new entry on the list is another week for Yamato 2199 Vol. 1. Looks like we need to wait until the monthly rankings to see Accel World hit 10k, or see if the second volume of Hyouka outsells the first.

Ah... I see. Right now Space Brothers are still airing with no confirmed end episode I believe?

I think the anime is doing VERY well in adapting the manga

well, time to read the chinese translation in the main time, haha

I like the matches, it's basketball but there's some magical elements in it.
The coloring and character designs are bright-toned and comfortable to watch.
The story focuses on basket and basketball only, no need to pry on the members' personal lives or family problems and I think that's a positive thing.
It has some nice comedy and 'fun' episodes which makes re-watching very enjoyable and not tedious.
Lastly, the characters shines the most.

I hope it is enough to make another season...

The moment I saw 100k sales, the first thing on my mind was "wtf K-ON?! Amazing!"

I agree, we desperately needs 3rd season, K-ON is very pleasant to watch. It's light-hearted but lively. The comedy is always a plus.

Or maybe he simply doesn't share your taste in music? He's also completed ~200 shows, meaning he's heard at an absolute minimum 200 OPs.

Based on the stupid amounts of money K-on brings in I'm pretty sure they don't even need source material, KyoAni does such a good job with the K-on girls (far better than kakifly does) that I think it'll be something they keep in their back pocket and cash in on every few years or so

K-ON! is outrageously profitable enough to make ten more seasons. It's perhaps more a matter of whether the creative staff wants to do more, and whether the rather abruptly ended follow-up manga series leave enough material. Not that it wouldn't be a piece of cake for KyoAni to flesh it out and clean it up. The insanely successful movie was all anime original after all.
