I'd like to say that I have high hopes for this, but I really don't.

Wait, I just read that they produced The Walking Dead.

Might not fail miserably, then.

*crosses fingers*

After I saw that the only show by them I know is Walking Dead, and that is horrible from writing to acting to almost every aspect, I lowered my expectations.

I would actually have high hopes for it, but now I'm not sure. I'll wait until we know more about the cast.

Some of the people here that think that this show will suck fail to realize that medical themed(some mixed in other themes) shows regardless of genre or origin have been more hit than miss in the US. Plus that this is the first anime/manga franchise adapted to a live-action series in the US as most have been anime dubs with a few live action movies thrown in. Here are some med shows that aired in the states:

City Hospital(1951-1953)
The Doctor(1952-1953)
Medic(the first medical procedure series 1954-1956)
Ben Casey(1961-1966)
Dr. Kildare(1961-1966)

So this is like House fused with Dr. Who?

This shit will be a hit, watch.

If there is one thing an American show can sell, its a medical show.

I would understand if it was a Jdrama but a US live action? Oh boy, this should be interesting.

Seriously?

Holy crap, i need to re-read that and possibly watch the Anime. I can't help but think i'm going to laugh once it airs though. I don't think something like this is fit for a US audience.

I read "Jack Black" and my eyes glimmered with hope, but then I noticed what it really was.

In the deadline article:
"Taka Ichise and Doug Davison, who worked together on Western adaptations of the Japanese movies The Ring and The Grudge, will executive produce the series for eOne. "
Ehehehe..... eeeehhh.... thinki I'll pass.

And as far as I know, they weren't responsible for the making of TWD, just it's distribution.

The anime/manga aren't really anything special by today's standards.
The stories are short and sometimes quite idiotic. The art isn't very good either(ignoring the disney style). Black Jack is kind of cool in a Harlock way though.

^Same here. Might as well give the animated series a try before watching the live action.

Aug 3, 2012 10:51 AM by bwub

Aug 3, 2012 10:39 AM by Angel_Beats

Oh I've heard/seen this anime before. Though I've never watched it before, should I try it?

Aug 3, 2012 10:30 AM by animelover4ver
