I'm totally fine with all of these.

Don't hate on Madoka if you're not even going to pose an alternative. (And let's face it: Steins;Gate was pretty much the only other possibility.)

Basically I make a concerted effort to never use overrated to describe a show. "Overhyped" has much the same problem.

In any event, Madoka getting another Best of 2011 award is a no-brainer, everyone knew it would happen. While it's "nice" to see Shinbou and Urobuchi recognized too, I fully support Urobuchi in his negative response to this. TIAF's government backers would be the first to line up to criticize his visual novel work as "immoral" and "degenerate". An award that is in any way tied to that government is barely worth acknowledging.

Finally someone got it right. Basically, just because someone's favorite anime didn't become the anime of the year doesn't mean the winner is overhyped/overrated. I mean Steins;Gate is number 3 in MAL, just behind Gintama and FMAB. Does this mean in MAL this show is overhyped/overrated? No....The answer is just NO.

This so much. I'm probably not the target demographic, but I couldn't stand watching it anymore after 3 episodes so I dropped it. It seems like its the fujoshi who like it best.

Good to see Madoka Magica winning the award again for best TV series. January - April 2011 was one of the best season of anime for me in the past 20 or so years of watching anime.

I may not agree with these, but then again, why would Japan care about an American's opinion?

I do have to agree with Shinbo getting "best director," cos if he DIDN'T get it, I'd personally go to Japan and punch the voters in their mouths.
