Akamatsu Ken Regrets His Low Participation in the Production of Negima Anime Final

Akamatsu Ken posted on his twitter as a reply to a fan, who complained the low quality of Mahou Sensei Negima! Anime Final, that "I understand your feeling, but I cannot say anything about it for now. Please give me some time." "I believed manga author's interference would delay the production of anime, so I supported the movie only from the outside. But I'm not sure if this attitude was right."

According to the special comic of Negima distributed at the premiere event, the DVD of Negima Anime Final will be released in the early Spring of 2012.

Komori Hideto, the director of Hayate no Gotoku! Heaven Is a Place on Earth, posted in his twitter that "Please don't blame Shaft and Studio Pastoral. They've been working very hard. The two studios are near Manglobe, so I knew the situation to some extent. I want the producer company (King Records) to care about the studios more."

As long as the Negi/Kotarou Vs. Rakan/Shadow guy (Forgot name) battle is in it and done right I'll be happy.

At the end of the day, if you are a Negima fan, I think you should just go on and watch this with an open mind. If you just listen to all the criticism, I personally don't think you will enjoy it as much.
So maybe Shaft once again fudged things up a bit and Ken didn't contribute as much as we all would have liked (quite frankly, I think the mangaka of a series should have the majority of the say when it's made into an anime since...you know...they CREATED it, but that's not always the way the world works)
But that doesn't mean you can't enjoy watching it. A not-so-good movie is better than no movie at all.
Sigh...I'm rambling. But, yeah. Despite all that's been said, I'm still really looking forward to it >.<

I haven't watched it (yet), but that sounds like mangaka actually have a say in the anime production :O I always thought that was a separate thing...

The last article stated that this movie will be a disappointment. The bad publicity was bound to happen with that kind of article. Akamatsu may have learned a valuable lesson, keep your stuff under wraps and no spoiler articles unless it's extremely vague.

This. I mean, I wasn't really expecting much out of this movie, and was going to watch anyway since I am a fan of the manga... but that news doesn't make me feel any better.

I'm guessing it is either 100% filler or he scenes look like shit. I'd only say that you basically can't make an "Anime Final" Movie if the original series is far from ending. :U
