Doubts Cast on the Quality of Negima Anime Final

Mangaka Akamatsu Ken posted his impression of Mahou Sensei Negima! Anime Final on his twitter. He said the script had been altered from the original scenario and it will be a little bit difficult to comprehend the story because some required explanations of the background were omitted. He asked the fans to remember the following three points before watching the movie:

1. The graduation ceremony will be held on the next day.
2. Negi has to choose one girl as his formal partner before the temporal contracts expire.
3. All the classmates other than Negi's formal partner will lose all their memories of magic the next morning.

He added that the battle scenes were well-done and the climax was impressive.

According to Kodansha, the story of Negima Anime Final was changed from what had previously been announced due to the circumstances of the production. Judging from the schedule of the premiere event, the length of the movie was shortened by 20 minutes.

Well they still need to beat his father, and then I guess wrap up the story for good (school aspect, epilogue, etc.).

well obviously negi will pick asuna cause there super close and no 1 cares for negi more than her also negi cares for asuna the most.

i think only the girls with out their own magic will loose their memory so konoka who has her own magic ability and setsuna who is her partner should be fine as well as any 1 who already knew about magic they would just loose their power.

though it doesnt matter cause the manga wont follow the anime final story line at all

I was thinking for a while, and for the girls like Setsuna... she'll forget that she needs to protect Konoka, because she cames from a lineage of mages? and she'll forget that Negi is a mage, even if that she knows it from the start? (not to mention other thinks that can be spoilers)
and the friendship that was created because of all that magic stuff? it will be like "whoa, we're friends but I don't understand why!"

like I said before, let's wait for Negima "Darkness"... the harem plan is always the best strategy! lol xD

And I'm guessing Eva would need to be excluded from the list of those who would need to have their memories wiped for obvious reasons, lol.

you do have a good point there but nearly all of those girls do not have any magical powers. for all intents and purposes they are normal kids who should have a normal school life. at the same time though a lot has happened to such an extent that to hit a "reset" button like that may not be the best thing. i can imagine the headmaster probably intervening and certainly negi at least letting their memories remain. we will have to see how they work this out.

asuna seems like the natural choice given the story since the beginning but that'd be so damn predictable that maybe the author wants to do a complete 180 and have negi choose another girl so asuna can live peacefully w/o any knowledge of magic

Well thats a damn shame. Well, I wasn't expecting too much out of this movie anyway.

We know its going to be Asuna... we KNOW IT... but why...?! WHY?! Why not Nodoka! She deserves it so much more! Not to mention so many other characters. Also, Asuna has been out of the action and character development for nearly half the manga. I really could care less about her at this point.
