Mibu Town Launches Life-size Statue Project of Mobilie Suit Zaku

According to Yomiuri Online, the town office staff of Mibu Town has launched a working group to build a life-size statue of Mobile Suit "MS-06S Zaku Char's Custom". The project was proposed by one of the members of the town assembly and about 30 staff of the town office gathered to promote the town by Zaku statue. However, there hasn't been a concrete idea of how to raise the required funds, which is estimated to be several billion yen ($1 = 81 yen). Takayama Hiroshi, the leader of the group, said they are going to call for assistance of Gundam fans all over the world through facebook and twitter.

one day japan will be filled with giant gundam statues that no one wants and I'll be laughing about it. (note that I'm kinda of a gundam fan and that was a joke . . . of sorts)
