The recent Bocchi's threads where people attacked each other without much trouble got me thinking about how easy it is still for people on the internet to insult each other, often for the smallest of reasons. So I wanted to do a mini survey. How often do you insult someone online and how often do you encounter insults yourself? How serious or justified is this, and how do you react to it? Has anything changed since the Internet began to actively fight toxicity? |

The internet hasn't changed from 2000s when it comes to non Polish sites or gaming. Cause in international sites like idk Reddit or Mal than it is quite strict, when I go to some Jbzd, Gaming, Wykop, Comments in Polish internet it is such a huge blood warfare of insults that if anything in mal can be considered a "toxicity" than y'all not even ready what the real Polish toxic internet look like. How often do I see that? It is hourly/30 minutes routine depends on when I want to refresh some pages or go into a server to play some games and I mean there the counter for huge serious insults not a light "fuck you" but some racism, nationalism, discrimination stuff like that x) How often do people insult me? Well as often as I play bad so sometimes it happens sometimes it doesn't. Has it changed bruh... Polish internet hasn't changed at all x). [Even Polish classics of Internet are based on insulting lmao, for those who are familiar with slavic languages count down the insults/slurs in first video x)] Whenever I see a Polish or Russian nicknames in internet I know already that it is gonna be a fun time... x) |

I'm no saint. I throw insults now and then. I'd drop more if there wasn't a risk of people not getting I'm not being serious. But if I think someone is being really dumb or disgusting I don't hide it. And I see insults everywhere on internet. Honestly I think worse are Facebook hobby groups. Cat groups especially. It's different kind of wild west. It's usually bunch of middle aged women yelling at each other. I have seen so many times someone asking help for cat care, and instead of someone just helping you get 20+ users calling you animal abuser, idiot, torturer, not deserving to breath etc. Worse is they're doing that with their face as a profile pic and real name attached to their comments. Getting called fag, whore etc. by some anon is more funny than shit those guys do. |

meh, I don't remember the last time I actually got aggressive with someone over the internet so can't really say and most of the time I did insult someone it was as a joke on my side, not that I'm a saint I'd just rather not get myself into drags I could easily avoid If I did get into an argument and I was getting heated then, I don't know I'd probably look dumb like most do and how often I get insults? it's the internet so take a guess, I don't think the toxicity here has changed that much over the years, fun to watch tho won't lie |

I’m reluctant in throwing insults online to people I don’t know because words can be harmful. I don’t even participate much in talking to strangers online anyway. |

Oh I don’t know. I feel insulting someone doesn’t help them get what I want to get across so I try to avoid it but I won’t outright refuse to insult someone. I more likely will do so if someone is being a complete asshole. Deathko said: So does that mean if you start talking shit about Hardbass you can get 100% screaming insults? Not often. Instead of insulting some random person on the Internet, I'm more likely to ignore and block 'em (like, if I find them annoying, irritating and/or disagreeable or they left a post or comment that's clearly nasty and offensive). There are definitely specific groups of people I make fun of, deride, and insult (like racists and pedophiles), but it's not directed at anyone in particular. Still, it's rare for me to insult or be a dick to someone offline and since I'm virtually the same online, it's rare for me to do so whilst I'm on the interwebz. It's also thankfully not often a random person on the Internet tries to ruin my mood or day. And again, instead of responding to any drivel thrown my way by said random person on the Internet, I'm more likely to ignore and block 'em |

Lots of Bocchi huh? I try not to offend or attack others on purpose, it’s a waste of energy. I’ll tease people in good fun, and maybe I’ll take it too far, but I don’t think intentionally upsetting people is productive. Any attempts to insult me have just been comedic. Go talk to girls or something instead of me. |

I used to a lot back in my earlier days of using the internet but nowadays I find myself doing it very very rarely, since insults in an argument are the absolute bottom of the argument pyramid, and anyone who resorts to this first is quite frankly a dumbass in my opinion. Rather than trying to come up with a good counterargument or trying to refute the central point I see most people (particularly younger folks) online just insult or use a reaction image or something "L + Ratio" "Seethe, Mald" "Cope harder" "🤓" because they're incapable of doing the former. Even in gaming I don't insult, but for different reasons. I try not to be toxic, that's all. However, when I do get to unleash my tongue of nuclear waste is when people are just being complete, vile, asinine shitheads who don't even need arguing against. Like those angry fanboys in SingleH's comment section who send him death threats among other things lmao. |

When talking unironically to people then I dont really insult. When it's nothing serious I just say whatever I want. In my friend groups we tell each other to kill ourselves and all that, it's just funny. |
