So I will clear first that I don't mind older animation or how big it's and to top it of it's by same author of HxH which I really like so I was planning to watch it but as you know it has 112 episodes Even though I don't mind long series but still I don't want the time to go to waste nor I want to start it to just drop it off and I know it might not be as good as HxH but I do wanna try it.

Yes it is, but you should try it yourself.
Watch the first few episodes and see whether it is worth to continue or not.

Personally, I think that YYH has one of the best first episodes in anime and that episode alone sold me the whole show.
If you're a fanboy, please don't waste my time.

Watch more movies, please.

Perhaps, this is hell.

it's solid but nowhere near as good as hxh imo. It's definitely got a lot of weak episodes

for me yuyu is a 7/10 meanwhile hxh 9/10

Well It's a option but as you already know some shows especially long ones get better after quite a while and that's why I was unsure But if you think it's then I will give it at least 10 episodes or so :)

Yes I already guessed that Yu Yu Hakusho is Togashi's first and HxH is second work so he basically improved by time and resolved all the mistakes he made previously and I am not gonna watch it while expecting it to be as good as HxH

I dunno ... I might be the only person who thinks Yu Yu Hakusho is way better than HxH. I still like HxH a lot but just personally got more attached to Yu Yu Hakusho.

The characters are way better in Hakusho imo.

Yes, it is definitely worth. I have it on hold right now but I am familiar with both manga and anime and I know what HxH is as well.
If you want to save your time, but still interested in this title, read manga. You'll save a moderate amount of time.
Also, a general advice for long running series is to google filler list beforehands and skip fillers.
YYH has just one filler episode though, but 20 minutes is 20 minutes lol.
Btw, I've seen a lot of people saying that YYH is better than HxH. And I believe that it might be true.

Yes it is worth watching, HOWEVER dont just watch the first few eps and decide like some of these people are saying.
The first 5 of Yu Yu Hakusho are kinda boring and arent a good showing of what the series is really about (which is fighting demons and tournament arcs). You have to wait till the protagonist is resurrected before some stuff starts happening.
Then you have to wait until the squad is fully assembled for the series to start getting real good. Once we in the dark tournament arc, it's all touchdowns from there.

The show generally only gets better with each episode with the sole exception being a short filler arc in there somewhere with a bunch of scrubby human psychics that dont matter.

I would say watch a few ep's and see for uself.

My take on Yu Yu, is horrible cast, boring plot, so damn rushed, it's insane.

+ the author apperently lost interested in the Manga, that's why the last arc sucks as much as it does.
He event went out and said sorry.

So that's how interesting yu yu is, even the author wanted to quite it, rofl.

I'd say yeah. Give it some time to watch.

The show really picks up on the Dark tournament arc from episodes 26 - 66.

Definitely give it a shot. Preferably dubbed since the dub for this show is honestly amazing. Only problem I have with YYH though is the final arc kinda sucks. Chapter Black and the Dark Tournament arc make up for it though.

If you've already watched and liked Hunter x Hunter there's no point in even trying Yu Yu Hakusho since it's definitely an inferior work by the same author. There's barely anything to gain in investing the time equivalent of its 112 episodes run. Less creative, less interesting and likeable characters, almost no sense of growth of any kind, and the plot literally consists of 4 missions with almost no relation to each other that altogether do not create any sort of sense of adventure and scale you'd expect from a series of this class. And the last arc in particular falls into offensive levels by rushing events thanks to the author deciding he didn't care anymore, which was a huge disappointment considering it was precisely this last arc the one where things started finally turning actually interesting.

i once spent like 3 years only watching anime about cute girls in highschool so i hope it caries some weight when i say that yu yu hakusho has some incredibly stellar stuff. i would recommend it on the strength of the Dark Tournament arc alone, no other shounen action anime i've seen does Being An Anime Only About Cool Fights anywhere near the same mastery, but i had a generally good time the whole way through. Really great characters and a lot of fun battles.

i watched it subbed which i'm sure a lot of people will tell you to do otherwise, maybe they're right but i vastly prefer listening to japanese voices in anime. japanese Kuwabara is some of the best voice work i've ever heard, and ofc Kurama is voiced by my fav megumi ogata so there was no way i was missing out on that.

Not everyone will like it.
It has some strong points so you should try it out but don't force yourself to watch all the episodes.

You are correct, but it's still a much better anime than 97% of all anime made today, and also it's a product of it's age, a 1000% better age than the one we're living in.

Btw has your benevolent wanna be dictator Jacinda Ardern finally lifted those draconian measures against a certain faux-demic?

Asking for a friend, I have in my bucket list the wish to go visit New Zealand since like forever and I wanna know if is okay for a sane non woke person to visit your wokeaholic Country?

Oh, I have another question. Is it still called New Zealand or are those woke lunatics in power & society managed to finally change it to some fake woke "native Maori" b.s name?

Yes, I think it's worth the time. It was one of my favorite anime as a kid. The character and story were all interesting and fun, and I thought it was really funny, too, and I think it ends well. It's been a while since I last watched it, but it's still one of my favorites. I actually think it's better than the majority of both old and new action anime.

HxH is one of my favorite anime and I found Yu Yu Hakusho horrible. It's not even due to older art style or production quality, the show is just legit bad in terms of story and characters, and the fights are way better in HxH, massive improvement from Togashi from one to another.

In the end just check it out yourself and see if you like it, I actually had a very good first impression with the series and the introduction of the cast, but YYH just utterly fails past the first 10 or so episodes when the plot and characters are already set.

Honestly it's a fine show, I'd say its first episode is one of its best, but I don't really see myself ever rewatching it. I didn't really care all too much for a lot of things after the Dart Tournament, and I remember not liking the end very much, and being very lukewarm on the last arc.

I'd say it may be worth a watch if there isn't a single other show you've been really excited to get into. If there is any other highly-praised, longstanding show that you've been excited to get into, like Cowboy Bebop, Gintama, Monogatari, even something shorter like Sora Yori mo Tooi Basho, or anything like that, I'd say they'd probably be worth checking out first.

Yu Yu Hakusho is worth investing in if you're a fan of Bleach. Yu Yu Hakusho is Bleach's spiritual predecessor with a different author. You can definitely harken back some similarities between the two. If you intend on watching, the dub is decent to listen to, especially if you want to go through the series quickly, just know that the dub is censored e.g. a lot of the swearing and blood from deaths were cut out.

I picked YYH up for the first time only a few months back. I thought it was a pretty good story with loads of fights, if you don't like battle shounen then don't bother. I like older anime so was happy to watch a few eps a day and got through it fairly quickly.

Let me say this first:

As far as "Yu Yu Hakusho" is concerned, if it was getting a remake, re-adaptation or whatever, I'd be telling you go for it. But it's not, so as a person who hasn't seen it, I can't recommend the anime or condemn it, it's up to you.

I like the manga, but the biggest problem of the anime adaptation is the dreadful pacing that is typical of old long running battle shounen (that's what "a product of its time" means). I mean like interrupting a battle every 1.5 minutes because some characters in the stands need to throw around a bad joke or state the most useless and obvious remark. Don't compare this to Chimera Ant Arc, since in that case the slowness is justified by the complexity.

So, watch a few episodes and keep going on only as long as you don't get bored.
