| No, I am not talking about the shows that are "so bad that they are good". More like shows that have a ton of problems with them, but are extremely entertaining so it doesnt really matter. Two Examples: 1. One Punch Man - A lot of this shows popularity was built on hype pre-release alone. The story is pretty messy, the character depth and character development is non-existent, and the humor is very hit or miss (mainly S2). However, the action is godlike and keeps you hooked. Its got some peak animation. Fun to watch, but not the best show. 2. Spy x Family - Without Anya obviously this show falls flat. Its pacing is far too slow, and its other characters are pretty dull. |

| There are things I have lasting nostalgia for that make it hard for me to dislike or take issue with their obvious flaws. Zero no Tsukaima would be the perfect example. But even then, I don't think the show is bad. It's just far more entertaining to me than it would be otherwise, if I had no history with it. I do think it's possible for something to be enjoyed unironically and also be outright bad, but it's very rare, unless you're a blank slate of a human being with zero preconceptions about media. Your experience of a show is a system operating between you, a person, and the show, at a specific time and place. Circumstances can vary wildly and bring that experience with them. |
