Second or third grade should be appropriate to start, that's when history books in an elementary level start talking about racism. |

I figured as much; just jumping to conclusions, indulging in the mob mentality of "all censorship is bad" and getting into possible conspiracy theories without unironically taking a Helen Lovejoy approach and actually thinking about the children and how they can either understand or not understand what racism is, let alone being able to identify it overtly or subconsciously within those movies. It's a heavy topic where many people have different ideas on how to teach a younger generation about it, and Disney just seems to be erring on the side of caution; for their image and monetary value, sure, but possibly/hopefully for legitimate concerns for children as well. That said, it's just a slight delay of the inevitable. Kids will eventually know about their past racism, including where to watch Song of The South (on Vimeo), Walt Disney hating Jewish people among other things, and they'll eventually know that 95% of their animated stories are fabrications of Grimm's Fairy Tales and be disillusioned towards the phrase "and they lived happily ever after"; all at an accelerated rate compared to people my age and older because of the internet. |

The problem is that they delisted their greatest movies from the kid's options, but the modern Disney dung remains visible. |
