| THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE. ---------------------------------------- Damn, that's a hell of an opening song for part 2. Picks up right after the previous season/part with Eren and his group on the move. Got some flashbacks between him and Armin too. Soundtrack is still great as the previous seasons and I'm glad to see what they've promoted from the trailers. So glad to see this show back! Nice wall Titan Reiner is back. Beast Titan is back. That glorous soundtrack is back :o |

| Really good episode. Loved how they captured the atmosphere and uncertainty. But I have to say OP is meh. I think I like Red Swan more than this one, and I didn't like Red Swan to begin with. Feels like the OP is building to some climax that never comes. Also, I expected Colossal to be CGI, but damn it looks like ass. |
| About the OP... Why is everything tinted in green? I always felt the show's colour palette was a bit trapped in how much it could do due to its setting so I'd usually appreciate a change of colours but this is not it. As others' have already said this OP lacks a sense of direction and due to that feels like a bunch of visually pleasing shots hastily taped together. The music kind of replicates that notion too. Expected a bit more to be frank, especially with the tone this arc is going to strike but I guess artistic liberties were a bit limited due to the messy production. |
| Yeah, finally an opening again that gave me chills and hype. It's not as good as the ones from season one, but still more to my liking than the previous two. Great start and I'm so pumped for the rest of the season, imo it will have the best action since the first expedition. |

Well literally any AoT production that has existed up to this point? It's no secret that Aot's production are one of the messiest ones to exist. It's not the record holder for most ADs on a single episode for nothing. This cour is no exception as it can be seen in the OP, the episode itself, the staff credits and what we know about the production going forward. |

| Great first episode, op was ok, uhh CGI collosal titan, but people are expected too much on the opening, I like the ending btw. The episode itself was incredible especially the soundtrack during the Reiner and Ape titan scene, that was perfect! |

So you criticize the opening and the ending, and never once say anything about the actual episode itself, but some how you conclude the season is a clusterfuck? I guess you were more hype for the opening and ending than the actual episode it seems. I would sacrifice the opening and ending for the actual episode any day. |

| Damn, that was a fantastic start to this season especially the second half which was crazy hype. Especially when the OST kicked in when Reiner transformed and the Ape and the other titans appeared. I like the OP's visuals but I don't know about the song, feels like it keeps building up to something but it never gets there. Loving the ED though. Production value seems high as expected and the action sequences look great especially the one where Levi straight just charged at Reiner as he was coming out of the wall. So good. Can't wait for more, this is gonna be crazy. |

| OH WE IN FOR IT BOYS! god i'm so excited for this arc.....i've gotta be honest though, the episode felt a little rushed compared to the manga. i'm sure i'll get used to it and it'll slow down to a better pace a little bit. overall, anime-onlies, y'all ain't ready... |

| Despite everything canon so far I still want to imagine Erwin as Armin's father. Only bad thing about this episode is Erwin's eyebrows are not humongous. |
