I sometimes had a little bit too much, like 3, 4 kg in and after winter, but nothing works besides of regular sports and a fairly healthy / normal diet with less sweets and almost no soft drinks, fast food etc. It's important to keep these habits your whole life and not just for a few weeks a year to lose weight.

Me too. I can eat all I want without gaining a pound due to my rapid metabolism. I'm trying to figure out how to gain weight without resorting to hardcore workout routines.

you don't need to run or lift to lose some weight. just do any form of light exercise (walking!!) at least 3 days a week and adjust your eating habits throughout the week. no more chicago pizzas, share dorito bags, chocolate sundaes. just eat good home cooked food and plan in advance what you're gonna eat so the snack life doesn't take you.

Yeah I'm trying but it ain't going down. Walking just kinda keeps it from going up. I want to get my weight down to at least 195 in the next few months. 185 would be the most ideal.

I cook homemade stew to eat and when I'm lazy, I eat ramen. I walk every now and then. Outside of work, I'm mostly stay cooped up in my apartment.

I'm discouraged to take part in strenuous physical activity because of my health issues so ya.

I'm under weight based on my height, but that does not mean that I'm as lean as I'd like to be. I plan on going on the Keto diet soon, which will help with that. Or at least just significantly reduce the amount of carbs and sugars that I intake.

I'm pretty average for my height. I'm a bit chubby in a couple of places on my body, but I'm overall no where near overweight, which I'm happy about.

I used to binge eat a full meal of snacks every night a few years ago and never gained weight, but I can't necessarily do that anymore so I've calmed down on the eating nowadays.

Up until a few months ago my BMI was around 20, but since I stopped consuming industrial sugar in any forms, it went down to 18,7. Which is close to being underweight.

Back when my mental health would get the best of me, I'd always end up gaining like 20-30 lbs. So I'd end up having to find ways to lose it afterwards. However, I'm not a gym guy nor am I really able to do the whole calorie counting and the usual methods of dieting. But I always found 23:1 intermittent fasting to work for me. Meaning that I only eat one meal a day, usually at night. The hardest part about fasting to me is trying to sleep with an empty stomach. While it's still a bit hard to go the whole day without eating, I've found it far more tolerable than sleeping on it. So I'd do one big meal at night, followed by a decent length walk/run afterwards to burn a bit of it off, but to still be able to sleep with a full stomach.

Keep in mind everyone is different. This sort of fasting could be dangerous to some people, so research is always important.

Never really had a problem with my weight since I work out regularly. If you don't like exercise (which is understandable tbh), then the best way to lose weight is to just eat fewer calories. It might be obvious, but that's what it boils down to ultimately. Also avoid sugar, especially sugary drinks like soda.

What's the difference?

I'm chunky and have been on a diet for about 20 years. My weight goes up and down with my moods.

Low carb eating works well for me. I do fine until I get some sugar in me and then go off the rails.

Eat less, exercise more. If you are in a caloric deficit you'll lose weight. It's not that complex tbh.

Okay even though you should aim for a low calorie diet you still might want to take your daily dose of vitamins, minerals, fiber, protein, etc. This can be done by improving your nutrition plan and avoiding "empty calories" such as sugar, alcohol, etc.

And no, I've never been overweight.

I used to be extremely underweight but I think I've gotten myself up to the bare minimum by now. And calorie deficit is a sure way to lose weight but it's not quite as simple as people think. A severe calorie deficit for a prolonged period of time will guarantee weight loss, but no one will be able to keep that weight off. To lose weight, you should eat the amount of calories that your body uses per day. If you ever find yourself eating below that (like during a fad diet), you're going to gain the weight back or just slow your metabolism and not lose any weight.
I took a nutrition class recently and I found it really interesting, especially considering I was malnourished for a while. So I certainly wouldn't consider myself an expert but I do get bothered when I hear about people trying to lose weight in unhealthy ways.

No I'm not, it depends what is considered overweight. According to the BMI standards I'm overweight. I weight 235 but my height is 6'6 and I'm muscular, so I might be overweight but I"m fit.

To lose weight just change your daily meals to something less processed and avoid eating to much junk food it worth it, also start to do some jogging you better start slowy then gradually increase the distance it helps you to keep a better condition, get in shape and improve willingness to wake up and excersise.

I have lost a fair bit of weight and I cannot exercise either.

-Plan out your eating days in advance.
-Don't do a normal diet as you will pile it back on when you stop
-give up takeaways, they have more than a days worth of calories in them.
-make smaller meals, do it slowly and you will not notice you are eating less
-don't eat until you feel full, that means you have eaten too much already because it takes 15 mins for your stomach to tell your brain you are full so you need to stop eating before then.
-Japan is a good country to look at, hardly any fried food and most of it is healthy.

Age plays a big deal, most people in their 20s can eat whatever they want. that changes when you hit 30, stop playing sports and doing less exercise. People who are fat in their teen or 20s are fucked in later life which is why I hate the PC crowd saying fat shaming is bad when not doing so will kill them.

I don't know if I am underweight, however I know that all my male friends are heavier than me.

I am a 17 year old, Male, weighing in at 134 pounds. All my life I have never been able to gain weight in a major way, as I physically can't devour food too fast and my metabolism rate is really high. The only true weight I have been able to gain was through muscle building and exercise.

officially i'm kind of underweight but non-officially, i think i'm pretty normal.
and honestly, just a good amount of exercise, drinking water and eating your
veggies should be able to help you lose weight over time. it'll be tough but
maybe it'd be worth it if it means a lot to you.

Nah, I'm near my target/ideal weight. I do a lot of cardio, which is why I can keep to it without having to watch my diet too much. Mostly cutting sugary drinks/soda and sugar from my tea out helped a lot as well as the cardio.

I used to have a little bit of extra fat, but I was far from overweight, and 2 weeks after I moved out, I came back to visit my parents and they told me I've lost some weight and I weight myself and lost 3 to 4 kilograms in around 2 weeks. I didn't use any particular way of losing weight, it just happened. I ate enough, but not to make myself feel full. Now I have a normal weight for the height/age/gender I have, but I plan on losing more weight until I become underweight, but not anorexic obviously. I plan on losing another 9 or 10 kilograms, to become very slim and skinny.

Cycle as your means of transportation if services are under 10 km away (although this may vary from country to country, as there are a large number of countries with no dedicated cycling roads).

Hit the gym, find a friend to go with you.

Eat a balanced diet by trying out just about whatever seems edible to you. I live alone now so I cook for myself and never eat fried food. Eating proper food is the biggest reason for weight loss alone. Exercise is just to get fit.

In short : the solution is to stay consistent. I was overweight 2 years ago, weighing 103 kg and around 5'11 tall. Now I have dropped down to 77 kg and gained muscle mass too. Only need to maintain this now.

PS : I don't give a shit about bragging rights but I'm just here to say that this whole weight loss drama is possible only if you are consistent. (Assuming you don't have any limiting medical conditions). It just takes some time.
