| Hi! I did try to read through a bunch of the comments but couldn't find anything. I've planned out my 2019 Anime Challenge (and I assume this will be the same for manga). I've tried to understand the sign up post a few times but I'm still really new to MAL. Do I just post the novice sign up? And then edit info as I go along, or am I able to just post everything I'm planning to read for the novice section of the challenge and then edit in watch and read dates as I go along? Edit: also are we allowed to use a series for the challenge in the aspect of for an anime aired in 2018 I've used Attack on Titan series 3 because I've seen the first two but hadn't caught up on the third yet? I was also going to use Dir en Gray's Agigtated Screams of Maggots as it's in the music type and I'm a new DeG fan and hadn't come across it yet, but I wanted to check. However, Yuki-Chan has a very good point. I chose to watch several anime that are tagged as hentai, which is why it shows up on my MAL graph list. If a person does not watch any hentai/sexually-themed anime, that genre will not show up on their MAL graph and they can still do that item just fine. |

For some items you obviously need them (e.g. Watch an anime recommended to you by MAL), but for others, like "Watch an anime with a score of 8.00 or higher", is it absolutely necessary to provide a screenshot or can I just "hope" for it to still be valid when I turn in? I used Hinamatsuri for that challenge (haven't gotten around to updating my list yet though) and I didn't make a screenshot since there's no way I see the score dropping below 8.00 |

For items such as watch anime with a score of 8.00 or higher, it is recommended you provide a screenshot, because if the show is no longer valid when we inspect it, you will have to redo the item, a simple screenshot will bypass that all. |

| I want to clarify if Sara Takatsuki can be used for (Ap.08) Watch an anime with a voice actor that worked on 5 or less series for her role in Marnie but it's a movie and at the same time she still has less than 5 roles. If using age, most would say that anything above 12 (or anything above elementary schooler) isn't child anymore but teen. But biologically speaking, it's something between infant and puberty, so anything with secondary sexual characteristic shown (easily breast in anime) isn't a child. This make confusion in Pokemon series since most female MC were stated to be 10 years old but some of them already have 2nd sexual characteristic.. I was planning to use Kiniro Mosaic S2 for this since i've watched a clip showing them seemed like pre-school/elementary schooler only to found out in wiki recently that they're high schoolers which are obviously teen. So this raise questions such as does time skip characters counts such as they were shown as a child in 1-2 episodes but after that they become teens/adults or vice-versa? Or what about shows when about half of series they were a child but on later half they're teens/adults (such as Captain Tsubasa)? What about human characters that can shapeshift between child form and adult/teen form? What about human characters that have body of a child but are actually hundreds years old or vice-versa? The characters need to be 12 or younger, so the ones in Pokemon would work, as they are stated to be 10 even if they have secondary sexual characteristics. For Kiniro Mosaic, you most likely saw a clip of Alice, but yeah, none of the characters in that series are eligible since they're all in high school. That is not to say that every childlike character should be treated with suspicion either, lots of them are eligible. Nor that every character in high school isn't eligible either. They just need to be 12 or younger, regardless of what education they're in. It depends on when the time skip occurs. If they are children, aged 12 or younger for the majority of time in the anime they can be used. If it's half or less, they cannot. If they are adults in a prequel series (or the like) and they are stated, with proof, that they are 12 or younger in the series you're watching you can use them. Use the same principle as the reversed time skip ones. Usually, human characters cannot shapeshift (that is to say, without another force behind it). If they do shapeshift, for example in Youjo Senki, and they retain their memories of their adult life they cannot be used either since they're technically not children. Bottom line is, always find (and provide proof) that they are 12 or younger, by either linking a wiki or from AniDB, or another credible source. |

| Hi there, I have a question regarding (N.16) Watch an anime with 2 or more main characters where one is as a human child: I used Bakemono no Ko, but realized during watching that the child, Ren, grows up and therefore only is a child for about half the movie. Is it still a valid entry? I thought it might be, since the movie is literally titled 'The Boy and the Beast', but now I'm not completely sure anymore. Also, if anybody feels up to it and would want to check my AWC Novice list before I move on to Apprentice, it would be highly appreciated! An extra pair of eyes is extremely helpful in catching some mistakes. I of course would gladly return the favor :) |

I ended up replacing N.16 entirely and am now using Kyoukai no Kanata for (N.10) Watch an anime adapted from a Visual Novel or Light Novel c: |

| Hey, can I use Bakemonogatari for AP.12: Watch an anime that began airing between 2000 and 2009? It began airing on 2009 but finished airing on 2010. Since the condition says it has to have begun airing on 2009, I think I can use it, but I just want to be sure. |

| Hi there, someone might have already asked it but I can't really scroll through the whole discussion :/ I was wondering if for the expert challenge of watching an anime of 75+ episodes, can that span over different season? I didn't know if had to be something that had 75 episodes under one entry in MAL or not. For example, I was hoping to watch Bakuman but the seasons are listed separately, total it's 75 but each season is only 25. |
