Doesn't surprise me. I love Made in Abyss but it can be disturbing. And this is also a dark series with young children as well.

Normally in shounen you don't see stuff like this.

TPN is clearly a seinen manga .
I mean the story is literally about [ offering the children to the demons for the greater good ] after all lol
that's not what shounen would do , it's definitely a seinen manga in disguise .

Much milder though

JoJo(when it was published in jump) or HxH is much darker in my opinion.

Sure it is darker than most normal shounens but there are far darker shounens out there.Like JoJo,Chimera ant arc in HxH or Attack on Titan etc.

Is this a lot like Made in Abyss? First episode gave me strong impressions it's going to be similar. Fucked/cruel shit will probably happen to kids. Strong mystery elements. Art style seems worse though and not as high budget.

I've read way more seinen manga than shounen. imo Neverland is not as mature as most seinen manga. Even though they're human cattle, it doesn't have that dark vibe that lots of seinen has. I don't fear for the main characters because so far I havent been shown a reason to. I've read seinen where the main characters aren't in any dangerous situations at all, yet the story has a darker tone than Neverland.

Wrong, it's shounen manga because it's published in shounen magazine. Deal with it.

No, they are tagged seinen because their manga or manga adaptations are in seinen magazines. IMO demographics tags should be removed from anime because they don't mean anything.

Deatube is Seinen, it's even tagged as Seinen in MAL but AGK is no doubt Shounen.

If you really catch up with current chapter, is clear that TPN is shonen manga. More action and mind games.
Also Seinen, Shonen, Josei, Shoujo is about demographic and it really depend on magazine and its reader. Regardless how dark and mature the story is. If it can be published on Shonen Manga Magazines and Shonen people in Japan (13-17 y.o) understand and like it. its Shonen

I think Isabella's a pretty great villain, possibly even better than Bondaddy, though Bondaddy's pretty great as well. It's nice to see female villains who aren't the sexy seductive type for once.

I still don't think Bondrewd is that great, but okay. He's a good villain, but the "on another level" thing is putting him too high on a pedestal when there are quite a few better villains who are "on another level" compared to him. I really liked Isabella's tragic character and she's also scarily intelligent.

What's the problem ? They're literally 12 yo
That's precisely at that age that teens/pre-teens begin to discover their bodies and pretty much everything

Calling that scene oversexualized is really overreacting

Sure that is the age that some people discover their bodies, but that doesn't mean it's totally normal for an audience to watch them do it. The sexualization of kids in MiA is played down a lot in the anime, there's just full on pin-ups of bare-chested children in the manga. Also they string them up naked for fan service. Also it's cannon that the MC messed with Reg's dick and shoved stuff up his butt. Also you kind of get the vibe that the author has a thing for kids soiling themselves a few times. There's more stuff in the manga too that isn't even in the anime yet.

But don't get me wrong, MiA is one of my favorites, but the author does sexualize kids in the manga and it leaks into the anime a bit, and that's uncomfortable.

naked doesn't equal sexualized, in order to be sexualized, they have to be presented that way, just being naked isn't sexualizing.

It doesn't but what I saw was something like a volume cover or singular piece of art. She wasn't topless cause of any story related reasons, basically. I saw it on reddit and the comments were saying it wasn't unusual of the author to draw that stuff. So yeah, I don't think it was drawn with pure intentions tbh.
