| So I was going into this episode with a completely different mindset of what was going to happen (More action and suffering) and I had hyped myself this entire past week because of the Light Novel readers saying this was an important episode and how they were advertising this in Japan and adding 1 Min and 30 Seconds to the episode. Let me just say that was one of the most powerful dialogue heavy episodes of any anime I have ever seen. I actually think this was quite amazing and it fit perfectly. I didn't want Subaru to keep re-doing this loop and screwing up due to his character's flaws. What I got was some of the most heavy feeling dialogue scenes in a long time with an amazing OST track and amazing animation. It was making me tear up at parts and it was like being in a boxing match where I was constantly getting pummeled but never knocked out. Subaru admitting all of his flaws was flat out amazing and extremely unique in any anime and I felt heavy heavy sympathy for the guy. For all of his stupid actions and cringe-worthy lines he's had these past 6 episodes I think this episode just redeem's everything, it really is starting from Zero for Subaru (and Rem). 10/10, for a dialogue heavy episode they captured Subaru and Rem's feelings perfectly with an amazing OST to boot and of course their always great animation. The voice acting was on par as well, great great episode that is worth the hype. |

| Well that was some godly voice acting if I ever saw it. Can't imagine what it must've been like to record all that I can't help but feel like most people would fall in love with Rem more than linger over Emilia after a conversation like that but oh well One of the best dialogues I've seen in anime really |

| Good episode - I was getting tired of Subaru's crap, and it seems like this is going to be a turning point. Will wait to see how Subaru's character pans out before committing to upgrading my score of the series. On a personal note, poor best girl - by which I mean Batelgeuse! Here's hoping that Emilia will finally develop a personality since the SS Rem seems to be taking on water. |

| I have to admit that it makes me awfully sad that my favorite ship has sunk, haha.. *wipes tears* Flat out rejection.. But this was truly an emotionally powerful episode with a lot of breathtakingly inspirational dialogue. An episode dedicated to the powerful dialogue between Rem & Subaru but it was just beautiful and excellent. This is going to be an unforgettable episode for me. *laughs while wiping more tears* xDD Puck was awesome. Betelgeuse deserves to suffer more than that. |
| Yes! Yes! Yes! It finally happened. Subaru redemption is on track., All I wanted was the old Subaru back and I think I'm finally getting it. It's been too long, Way too long since I smiled at an episode of Re:Zero, Seeing Subaru laugh after a long time was great. Very bittersweet episode, Started out very melancholic but towards the end it became really sweet. Rem was wonderful this episode, I am so glad that she was able to motivate Subaru. Regarding Subaru's outburst I'm glad that he finally realized and became aware of what he needs to do, His outburst represents what he thinks of himself, How much regard he has for himself. The weird thing is that even though everything he talked about was completely self-centered he does not value himself. In fact when he said "I have no strength but I want it all" "I have no knowledge but I all I do is dream" "There's nothing I can do, But I still struggle in vain" Surprisingly those are the qualities of someone you call a 'Hero' (Maybe not the first two but the third one definitely), Yet he's ashamed of that. I'm glad Subaru was finally able to gain back his esteem. I can finally look forward to something good now. Also Puck for MVP XD |

| This episode is one of the reasons this is probably the best deconstruction of the reincarnation/new world genre out there. I've read tons of web novels and light novels where far too often does the protagonist get sent to another world and becomes OP in every category. Even if they have a struggle in the beginning, like Tate no Yuusha or Arifureta, they quickly overcome it with their own ridiculously rising strength and usually spend the rest of the time living the good life. They get a harem, actually have relationships with them (most web novel MC's aren't oblivious or pussies when it comes to women), save the world, and live the good life. Re:Zero is what would happen if a real person got sent to a fantasy world and not become OP. Subaru isn't inherently smart or powerful, he can only do what he can. But in a world he knows nothing about, where everything is beyond the bounds of his old world, he will inevitably run into problems. And just because he's the main character doesn't mean help or strength will magically come to him. He has to work and persevere to accomplish goals which in other series with OP MC's would be easy tasks. It's nice that this series is showing that despite it being another world, it's still real life. If you didn't do anything in your previous world, you probably won't be able to do anything in a new one either. The only choice is to change, and changing isn't easy. You have to go through a lot to finally learn something and change yourself, which is the most important thing Subaru needs to do right now. And this episode forced him to take a big step forwards. |
| No character development they said. It's torture porn they said. Not leading anywhere they said! Haters got BTFO'd. They continue to get BTFO'd for rest of season and even harder at season 2. XD There is folks, this what Re: Zero is a Zero to Hero story. What a wonderful episode with some of best written dialogue I've seen in LN/WN. |

| Not to say Subaru's choice was a wrong one (Choosing Emilia over Rem) but I have no idea why he made the choice he did. Emilia has done almost nothing for Subaru in comparison to Rem. Rem has literally died for him twice and what has Emilia done? Save him from a few thugs and let him rest on her lap? I mean sure, whatever man. I'm just glad he's back to his happy self :c. |

| Puck is so OP. One of the best episode thanks to Rem. Dammit Subaru, why can't you realize who the best girl really is. Hopefully after this Subaru stop being pathetic. |

| Amazing episode and I'm a Rem shipper. This episode was great for both of their development and people are clearly not realizing what is going on and just wearing their shipper goggles. This is a masterpiece, this episode is a 5/5 this series is a 10/10. If you think otherwise that's fine, but don't go forcing your condescending opinion on others. This was an amazing episode. |

| It's starting to feel like Subaru only likes Emilia because of her role as heroine. Even in the afterwards of volume 1, the author says something along the lines of, "aren't silver haired heroines the best?". Really feels like the author is fulfilling his own desires instead of paying attention to the feelings of the characters. I hate to sound like a Rem shipper but who wouldn't choose Rem after an exchange like that? Well, at least the author had the decency to end the ship so the audience wouldn't be mislead in the future along with Rem. Don't get me wrong, I'm on Emilias side but I just hope that Subaru would have a more genuine reason for going after her besides the whole "she saved me when I first got here". Good will is not a good reason to fall for someone. Rem has been a companion to Subaru who's stuck with him through thick and thin, but mostly thin. To have someone pour their heart out for him and then to reject them just does not feel like the realistic choice. |
