(Redfoxoffire - this seems to be causing a fair bit of confusion on these threads, so perhaps you could specify in the OP which countries each company licenses for. The only difficult one I can think of is Kazé but given that this thread is I think only for English language stuff, they may as well be counted as UK & Ireland, even though they actually get licenses for various EU countries) xkinn123 said: waiting for CR and Funi.. This is for anime licenses, not simulcasts. So I doubt you'll be seeing Crunchyroll on this thread. |

I like this, gets the news of releases out there :3 UK companies need that love. Not sure if it really counts as it was right at the end of December but UK company Manga Entertainment announced these: Aesthetica of a Rogue Hero Blue Exorcist: The Movie Highschool DXD The Devil Is a Part-Timer! Robotics;Notes |

The lovely thing about UK companies is that, most of the time, their releases are a lot cheaper than the american releases. For example, the UK edition Blurays of Lupin III: The Woman Called Fujiko Mine are almost half the price of Funimations release. I might pick up Chrome Shelled Regios, looks like a decent/good show. |

You know why this is the case don't you? Funimation has literally no competition in America, so they can do what they want and charge too much! I've never been a fan of theirs. Aniplex USA is even worse though, as far as I've seen. |

FUNimation expensive? Maybe their initial releases, but even that is a far cry from the original Japanese releases, which usually cost at least 5x more (with a lot more extras, but still). But FUNimation also does plenty of cheaper releases down the line, most notably in their S.A.V.E. line, where you can pick up a 2-cour series for as little as $15 sometimes. Even Aniplex, who seem very expensive for a North American licensing company, are pretty good when you compare it to what you'd pay in Japan, and they include plenty of extras. |

Japanese prices go from really expensive to just ridiculously overpriced. I am very careful with my money, so that's probably why I said Funimation was expensive, but now that I think about, it's not THAT bad. I did recently buy the S.A.V.E editions of Case Closed Season 3 & 4, so I shouldn't be complaining. Still, UK manages to get things releases for cheaper prices for some reason. Anyway, I was also planning to buy Rose of Versailles. At first sight I also thought that was a bit too expensive for me, but I've become a huge fan of Osamu Dezaki's works and think it'll be worth the money after all. |

Doesn't belong on the top post just yet as we don't actually know what title this is yet, but I thought I would mention it on here given the storm its been creating on twitter/various UK sites. Anime Limited has acquired the license to a series for BOTH the UK and US markets, and will be launching a kickstarter project (to make it a "worthy" release) in about a week. It is: - An older film - That has never been released before in either the UK or US. source: http://www.alltheanime.com/dates-q1/ (also includes dates for various previously announced licenses) |
