| THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE. ---------------------------------------- Dat OP song. Nice. Hina is a lot shyer than I had thought. Dat blush. I think it's going to take some time to get used to the mecha designs. Not every day that a giant purple robot lands into the middle of a basketball game. Action was alright I guess for most parts. I didn't expect Hina to have piloting skills though. Yeah, I'm impressed by that. Not bad so far imo. As a mecha fan, I think this has potential. Hinaaaaaaa. |

| Doesn't show who voices that crazy pilot who attacked the main guy is, but I'm guessing Nobu. I just realized that the girl from the future and "Dio" are from RDG... And that Dio and the main guy (now from the past) are matching? Did she just got destroyed through that air? That voice who sang OP sounds like May'n. ED was nice, too. |

If they return to the future before the time he was first sucked in by the warm hole, he is replaced by his future self at that moment. Same thing probably happens with Hina and we'll see her future self acting as an enemy. |

| Why is everyone thinking that the Guy in the robot or Hina isn't going to appear anymore? From what I saw it is a time-loop. The antagonist had meet the Aoba already and Hina was told by Aoba about the attack. I would think in the upcoming episodes Hina is going to be one of the enemy pilots that Aoba is going to make her betray her organisation and goes back to the past to protect Aoba. |

| This was a pretty good first episode, I can already see the potential in this, and that OP song was pretty good. Although I am a bit confused on if Hina and that guy in the other mecha actually died, also now that Aoba is in the future, will he meet his future self? Guess I got to wait to find this out. |

| I thought it was kind of rushed and forced at times, but overall, pretty interesting. Especially the time travelling. Aoba's VA...It's like SAO alll over again. |
| Haven't had a chance to watch this yet, but I like how the feedback seems to be pretty positive so far! I hope it is as good as Valvrave! I'm hoping this one is longer anyway, I like my mecha to be about 50 or so episodes! |
| Hina's not dead. Nope can't be. She and Aoba's like OTP right off the bat haha :D Time travel. This is going to be confusing. That and probably a lot of plot holes (hopefully not). Time paradox, different timelines and stuff always make my head hurt. I like the OP but Valvrave spoiled me with awesome Mizuki Nana OPs. Oh and I almost forgot: "Nice Coupling." Is that gonna be this series' catchphrase? lmao |

| Nice episode, I enjoyed it despite all of the similarities with Valvrave. I really hope this won't throw me into despair like that... but it's Sunrise, what can I expect Side note: "Dio" means "God" in Italian. Just sayin' |
| Like others said, it has a gundam seed feel. Looked like Arthrun and Kira standing in front of freedom and justice in the end credits. All in all though looks pretty fun so far. The mech design is a bit different, but i dont hate it. Also, fairly sure we will see the girl again since she is all over the opening credits. But as someone said, im guessing as well she will start out as an antagonist before Aoba charms her. |
| Watched it subbed. So Aoba got sent to the future before Yumihara goes back to get Aoba in the past ( for whatever reason- Hopes to find out) Plus Sakurai's character will be alive too. I wonder why he hates Aoba so much?? Maybe he love Yumihara but she loves Aoba. Could Dio and Aoba be one and the same?? Since Aoba's Mecha matched Dio's Mecha. |

| The first few minutes made me think that, if this was a slice of life anime, it would be a really good one. I was hoping that the opening was just totally random and had nothing to do with the series. |

| Typical Sunrise Mecha first ep XD...not that it's a bad thing. I actually enjoyed it quite a bit and glad that Aoba seems to be a better MC than Haruto at least hehe. The action wasn't bad. I still have pretty much no idea what's going on with the time line stuff and Plot as well as why Hina disappeared...etc But I'm guessing this might be 2 cour so there should be lots of time for the plot and this is how Sunrise always does its stuff hahaha That's quite the Seiyuu lineup there too. And seems like Yoshitsugu is just getting more and more popular ^^...I'm liking him as Aoba. |

| imo: the OP song is nice but the OP itself is = every anime OP ever! the animation. really nothing special here. its OK sofar. the mech design is OK at best..i saw 1-2 that looked actually good in the future part. i can live with that aslong this show delivers on the story and plot part. 4/5 |
| I love mecha and time travel and this show is both those genres combined? I'm watching this, I'm hyped. Next week Golden Time and Kill La Kill are back too. So, I'll have Buddy Complex, Golden Time and KLK. Great week. |

| At first I thought the whole title of this series already makes it kind of a joke -- I mean, "Buddy Complex"? You've gotta be kidding me. But the first episode shows some serious potential for this series to be pretty damn good. The OP and ED, while not breathtaking, were both decent. The start is also far less cliche than, say, Kakumeiki Valvrave. Some observations/speculations: 1) Bizon, the silver-haired guy that appears alongside Yumihara in the ED, is probably the man who came after Aoba. 2) Judging from how the uniforms are different between the two duos, it's likely that Dio x Aoba and Hina x Bizon are opposing pairs fighting on different sides, with Bizon being Hina's partner. 3) Clearly, if Hina is protecting Aoba, it means she already switched sides by the time she came from the future, presumably because of her relationship with Aoba. 4) Theoretically, the reason that Hina disappeared at the end of the time travel that there can't be two of her in the near future that Aoba is going into, but this doesn't necessarily mean she's dead. In the far future, she'll be time travelling back to the present, but when she disappears in the present, she may simply return to the far future. This would allow her to stay alive and resolve the time travel paradox. Frankly, this is a much better start than I could've expected. I just hope Sunrise doesn't screw it up. |
