I thought it was because he was sick...

I use my laptop with an HDMI to my TV.
I would vote for both it possible, but on campus, I just use my laptop.

Tablet.

Earlier this year, I came down with a cold and I was stuck in bed the whole day. Couldn't go to my computer so I pulled out my tablet and started watching anime.

Ever since then, I've only been watching on the tablet.
Just need to find out how to quote this every time so I can dodge the stupid 30-character limit.

Laptop.

I Tried to watch it on crunchyroll in the living room TV but my mom walked by and started asking me questions like
- why is it in chinese?
- why are their eyes so big?
- why does she have pink?

so i no longer public watch my anime.

@Cupquake I'm gonna take a guess and say you use your friends log in ID?

Considering that anime has fewer colors and less detail than live-action, I have to disagree. And screenshot comparisons of numerous Blu-Ray rips have shown that 1080p is often not worth the extra file size vs. 720p. If you want to watch 1080p, by all means do so, but I don't see it as "necessary" for audiences in general. Not to mention, many anime out there aren't even available in 720p, let alone 1080p.

I usually watch on my 32" HDTV, connected either to my new desktop, my laptop, or my DVD player. Or if the files are on my old desktop, I may watch them on my 16" monitor if I don't want to bother transferring them on an external drive, or if the files are too low-res to look presentable on the HDTV.

Everyone is entitled to their own opinions, but not their own facts.

I watch anime on my TV by connecting a HDMI cable from my laptop to the TV. 720p for TV anime, and 1080p for BDs.

I'm quite clueless and ignorant about this stuff, it's not until recently that I found out that there a thing called HDMI cable for PS3 even though I owned a PS3 for 4 years. The difference is quite huge though in color from playing something in my laptop using VLC and playing the same file on my PS3 in HDTV and that's what I meant. I even showed my friends and family and they were quite surprised. You might be right about 1080p vs 720p I tried Kuroko no Basket and the 720p version is better and doesn't have noticeable drop in frame rates ( is that what they call it, when there is a bit of lag?)

Generally you won't notice a difference between 720/1080p if you are sitting more than 3 metres (10 feet) away from the TV screen and the TV screen size is less than 1.07 metres (42 inches). You will notice a difference on a laptop screen as you are usually sitting close enough to notice.

With the drop in frame rates, it is to do with your machine not being able to handle the video bit-rate since you are just using VLC. If you were using MPC-HC and external filters for high quality playback, then your machine would struggle even more.

720p vs 1080p for particular anime, it really depends on how much upscaling was done from the original video source. Older anime were made in lower resolutions, which would make DVD 480p look better than 720p/1080p (even more!) for instance. Newer anime are made in higher resolutions, where 720p/1080p will look better depending on what resolution it was made at. Video bit-rate also makes a huge difference as well, particularly in more action scenes.

I started watching anime on the laptop because it was the most convenient thing to do then.

And then when my laptop crashed and I didn't have any access to anime or the internet I turned to my SAMSUNGGALAXY. I found a good anime site where I could download hd anime on the phone now I use my phone to watch anime 80% of the time.

Plus I can watch anime pretty much anywhere with my phone. Plus it's much more convenient.

Hah, I just balanced the voting of PC/Laptop with my pick.

I watch 99% of the time on my laptop and 1% on my iPod as I have Madoka Magica on it and watch it while I'm on the train or so.

I watch it on my desktop. Having a 24" screen at 1080p is good enough to watch on.

I would use the TV if there was Chromecast support on VLC or something. I tried playing an MKV and it doesn't display hardsubs. It would be awesome if it did though.

I enjoy watching my Anime on my bed using a Laptop, but I use my Desktop to watch Anime Movies sometimes, because the screen is bigger and I got a better speaker system. I only use my tablet or phone to watch Anime if I have nothing else to watch it with.
