| Wow I think Alibaba was a little OOC there. I've officially stopped hating on the anime and am hoping that the ending will be somewhat decent. In my opinion, it's still not as bad as what happened with Ao no Exorcist. Yet. Btw, poor Hakuryuu getting his arm chopped off like that :( |
| I'm extremely happy I am following the manga now. My hunger for more chapters has made me catch up to the whole series within four days. I REGRET NOTHING. As for this anime adaptation, I must agree that the recent episodes have been severely lacking in quality. I really hate how useless Alibaba and Hakuryuu are right now. Why? Why butcher such fantastic characters? Why does Alibaba have to hog the entire spotlight for this adaptation(and do so horribly too)? Zagan was supposed to be Hakuryuu's arc. I really became a stickler for this tenacious yet ill-fated prince. I would kill to have a faithful anime adaptation along the lines of FMAB or Hunter x Hunter, but I think I'm setting my hopes too high. I wonder if A-1 can come up with some sort of decent, if not amazing, ending next week. It still bugs me how they've managed to keep the quality up for the adaptations of SAO and Space Brothers but not Magi... I suppose it comes down to money and popularity in the end. |

| I can not pull a real critique on this since I have not touched the books. (But my sis did helped me cover the fine points and the cute features that the manga had it's charms for...) But Alibaba... Yea.. I do admit that Hakuryuu should have taken the spot light, but wanting to wrap up in a magical ending... Hmm? But most of all: I still want to laugh on the inside (in the mixed feelings) at Fallen Alibaba.. unless I am not allowed to. |

| Why do people keep saying they have to squeeze everything into one show, can't they just continue into a second season if they chose? We don't really know much yet. Also, the manga fans seems to have incredible stamina, I'd hate to get so angry over something that's supposed to be enjoyable, I would have stopped watching ages ago with the level of rage some people are showing lol. |

This entire last arc has sucked; it's sucked so much that I actually decided to read the manga to see why all the manga lovers hate it, and now I understand why they do. Even my little brother who hasn't read the manga isn't liking it, and we both loved the first few episodes. I really hope that some day Magi gets a proper adaptation. |

| This episode was gory! Animation was good as well. To be fair, about Hakuryuu, he won't do much in this arc, because at this moment he's mainly there to observe and learn from Alibaba and the others. (Though with how things turned out by now I can already predict what A1 plan for him next episode). He did cover his comrade in a desperate move (in manga he felt that he wasn't to any help at all and letting his arm be pierced was a strategy to hold onto the sword to buy time). It's a shame the anime won't make further into his story. Believe me, that boy has has serious issues. Aw, no one is mentioning Dunya's story? It's awfully sad and if her interaction with Isaac was explained it would have been more like a romantic tragedy ;_; Unfortunately this is overshadowed by a certain plot twist. Just to be clear, Alibaba is my favorite in Magi, he is a sensible guy and all that, but it hurts to see his character process being butchered like this. It's really a shame because when reading the manga I grew more and more attached to him. How he learned from his mistakes in Balbadd and after that always managed to gather determination to fight, to become a more reliable hero. The anime version just tries really hard to twist every single opportunity and blame everything on Alibaba. Cassim died, Balbadd fell to Kou empire, Sinbad is cursed and powerless, <_< Sindria is under attack, <_< Morgiana nearly died, >_< You can't fight properly against your opponent, you fail, Dunya died, <_< oh yeah, and Hakuryuu losing his arm, that's your fault too <__< Come join the dark side <_____< Alibaba's character has been broken beyond repair. Even if his friends will save him in the end, it wont help anything. He'll never be able to live with himself knowing that he caused danger upon them. *Siiigh* (Also what about the side effect of turning dark djinn *coughCassimcough*) |

I wish that the studio had decided to go with something much closer to canon and instead of an ass-pull anime only ending chose an appropriate arc for a cliffhanger or season arc ending instead. I'd much rather see the real manga animated than what we've got (maybe we should love bomb ufotable since they redeemed Fate with their remake). On the other hand. those of us who haven't read the manga (or your spoiler) will probably give this a reasonably good rating based on its merits. I think that's why there is a touch of acrimony in the exchanges. Manga readers are comparing it to what it could (and should) have been, anime only folks are comparing it only to competing shows. |

| Really like this. Don't care about manga, so ep was ok for me. Though it's a bit strange at some parts. Loved when Hakuryuu lost his hand and Dunya's death was quite tense. So, waiting for the filler ending. Hope, there will be the way to continue the story for s2. |
