| THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE. ---------------------------------------- IMO this was a really good and exciting filler arc. Again it showed us the good part of the StrawHats and it's also good to see that not all the marines are that filthy and corrupted. Looking forward to Hajime no Luffy |
| 5/5 for a filler! It got me a lil' bored, but it was funny sometimes too =) now, another filler is waiting for us ... T_T it rly is a looong road till 227!! n G-8 wasn't half bad =) guess I'll have 2 c how the next filler would be xP |

| Yah, this was pretty good for filler. Not amazing, but at least it was pretty smartly written. The strategic games were well conceived. The hardest part was to know how strong Luffy and crew really are and to see how much trouble this one Marine base was for them. At this point in the story, I'm pretty sure they should've been able to take out that entire base without issue. But that's just me. :) |

| To be honest, in some ways I actually thought this was better done than the Skypia arc. For one, it didn't really drag or anything. I also liked Johnathon, It was cool to see an enemy use his head instead of his brawn. A very nice, and needed, change of pace this arc was. |

| i'm still surprised by the fact that i actually liked a filler arc. never planned on watching this but i ended up watching most of the arc. it was interesting and hilarious. totally ready to get back to the canon story, though! |

| Jonathan is a good character :) Marine Commander should all be like that. Condoriano is really helpful lolol. Luffy had the Tako in his pants =.= Shock! |

| Condoriano is best Strawhat. Thought the ending with Jessica and the Commander was pretty cute too- "have you fallen for me all over again?" awww ^^ Also why the hell is Luffy using his pants as a storage unit for Octopuses?! Like...what else does he have down there?? XD |

| This episode had some great moments, namely: Everyone: “We can’t escape on boat!”, spoken about why for 5 minutes. Zoro: So, what do we do? Luffy: ALRIGHT! LET'S HEAD FOR THE SEA GATE! FULL SPEED AHEAD!!! :D Zoro: “Moron.” Sanji: “EH?!” Zoro: “I said "Moron"!” Sanji: “EHHH?!” I was unsure on how the writers would let Navarone get away from this without punishment, but now that they scapegoated Condriano I get it. I should have seen that coming. The reinflating the octopus was a cool idea, it will mean that the Straw Hats can actually float to the canonical location now. With a hole being punctured in their ship I assume that means that it will finally be time to land somewhere and pay a shipwright to fix up the Going Merry. Maybe it’s time to finally get our new crew member! I felt slightly odd about everyone forcing Usopp to use the impact dial, and the manner in which Luffy pulled the octopus out of his pants and how they inflated it, but despite the former being somewhat out of character, and the latter being a little out of nowhere, this was filler, and good filler at that, and to end it like this is still excusable to me. I enjoyed this mini arc more than I enjoyed Skypiea! It was paced well, the comedy and character interactions were great, everyone but Condriano was good as a support and it really characterized the navy in a great light. Sure it didn’t have the peaks of the backstory or worldbuilding of Skypiea, however I think it’s lows were nowhere near Skypiea’s lows and I even found the commander to be a better antagonist than Eneru who didn’t even get explored in his power or motives. Overall this was a nice breath of fresh air and something consistently fun, not something I wanted to fall asleep over, this is some good filler! |

| They finally got out of G-8 thanks to Condoriano making sure that they escaped safely and I'll have to say that this was Gr8 especially for a transition arc that bridged two major arcs! It's great that Jonathan gladly accepted their loss since their visit to Naverone had led to everyone in their base to become closer and more competent than ever before. The Straw Hats got their gold back and they got a surprisingly fun experience not just anyone could go through so it's a win-win for everyone except for Condoriano lmao |

| Aand they of course escaped the fortress in the most convient way possible by flying the ship and using the octopus as a hot air balloon. I could've easily skipped this filler since the ending also fits to when they left sky island but I've never skipped a single episode so, and it was quite a fun little filler arc anyway. |

| This was certainly an all's well that ends well conclusion. While the Straw Hats successfully escaped, the G8 Marines now have that experience to deal with actually bad pirates. It was a win-win and there were no hard feelings (well, except for Condoriano). |
