Emma met the Madam when she was 15, I believe they said in another episode... So did she sell flowers on the street up until that point? I wonder how she came to be hired by Ms. Stowner...

Seriously, though - yeah she had a rough life. :\ Seems like it's been hard for her since birth...

Damn that was such a horrible and dramatic backstory :( really strengthens the character of Emma more but it's damn sad! Seems the next episode will be just proceeding with the story to buildup towards the end of the second season?

Lets see what the final episode of this first season has to offer!

That was pure Dickens. What a sad backstory poor Emma has.

ON another note, Hakim is a total smoothie. The way he caught the maid in his arms was mesmerizing.

Emma :( And FFS William is really stupid. Al just told him Emma's going back to her home village...why the hell did he not stay?! She could very well leave that night and he'll never see her again!

Finally, the backstory episode. I've been wanting to know more about Emma's past. I did not expect it to be that shitty.

Talk about hard knock life... Her aunt (uncle wife) was an abusive tutor/parent, then she was kidnaped at such young age to be sold to a brothel I was mad as hell as soon as that scene took place, I hope that bastard (the one who kidnaped Emma when she was a child) is castrated or better dead in a ditch... I’m glad she is a quick thinker and escaped the situation. Thank god he met that maid who offered shelter & food and the girl who teach her how to make flower arrangement so she can have money to buy food… there's still some good people left in that sh*tty environment.

Emma had such a rough life, I almost got teary-eyed. The way she escaped from her kidnapper was cool. And she's worked hard all her life, no doubt she treasured her bond with Kelly so much for the safety she provided her.
Another great episode.

For a second I though William would go back to search that kid selling flowers too, after hearing the stories of Emma.

Emma at the other hand had such a hard life. And her aunt is such a ......
