THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE. ---------------------------------------- Riku going into the mahoujin and found Kaguya. Then he saw boss, who is stronger than him. Prince is playing harp while princess praying. Everyone watching the battle. The pendant on him shines. Thieves pair bombed from his place. Queen, pendant, and Kaguya releasing light, and saved the island. It's amazing that the bread didn't get wet from them flewing to ashore. Both of them are "tired". Prince said he can make a good music by Riku's victory, and amazed at Riku's skill (exceeding his expectation). And the moon is not red anymore. Queen left Kaguya. Back to peace. Even the elves appeared again. Elve HiroC's smile! Pirates are departing. Since that guy bombed directly from his place, he got no place to live. Riku is back as a baker. Learning about good or bad in temperature (content). Way of making things to lead to success or failure (how)... Riku wants to progress, and he's getting there (bread is getting there). etc., with OP as inserted song. There was ED. Riku's smile with completed breads after the ending. ![]() I ♥ Two Syaorans from Tsubasa RESERVoir CHRoNiCLE and TRC!!! |
I thought this anime gonna have a bittersweet ending but looks like we still got a happy ending though I kind of expected it since the title of this episode is "Shiawase no Pan" or "Bread or Happiness". Also, it took me 11 episodes until I realized "Bread of Happiness" is a pun or wordplay from the game ED song title "World of Happiness" which is basically the state of the world Rick and the others live in.. until lizardman pirates from other world invades and disrupts that happiness. ![]() |

Even though I expected more action throughout the series and in the last episode (the fight was fairly short) I still enjoyed the series. It was relaxing in about every episode with some action sequences sprinkled throughout. ![]() |
Where the hell is Mistral? Seriously. The only reason I bothered with this show is because I wanted to see how Yukarin would voice Mistral. What the hell was Production IG thinking? This incompetent trash can't even be called an adaptation of an already bad game. They wasted a bunch of money on this, and they don't even have the fan-favorite girl show up? Jeez. The only thing decent about this show were the character designs by Tony Taka. That's it. ![]() |
I was hoping for some memories to be revealed and a longer fighting scene. This episode made me lower my score from a 7/10 to a 5/10 ![]() ![]() |
It was a good ending tho it could have used some more spices then again the entire anime has been pretty laid back. I wonder if there will be sequel to this. The anime itself was pretty nice to see a strange but happy island and the way there bakers live. ![]() |
I feel sorry for the suckers who came in thinking this would be an action anime. Anyway, thought it was average, though I thought they should have just stuck with the slice of life, because then the action tag wouldn't be on this, and so many people here wouldn't have been bored out their mind by watching the Breadmaking version of Aria. 6/10. Good, nothing special though, was a relaxing show and had fantastic animation and art. I wrote a review, made sure to say "Do not watch if you're expecting action", as I feel that's one of the series main problems. ![]() Modified by Infinite, Jul 3, 2012 6:40 AM |
episode was dull... There were some good episodes here and there, but I was annoyed at how characters were introduced and then never seen again. It's like 'why'd you bother with that episode?' All I can think is that there's a second season on route which will actually feature the other characters more, but the chances aren't very high. Nothing happened...not on the Slice of Life front, not one the action front, nothing. And OF COURSE the 'final battle' was basically just Rick and that stupid girl from the castle. We still got no reason why the castle likes to confiscate anything someone gets by their own hard work. And we have no clue why the prince is such a jerk, or what his next jerk move was going to be. The ONLY redeeming feature of this show was Xiao-Mei and Hank. They carried the show for me. Melty was great too, but she was one of those that were introduced and never seen again. I could go on and on with how this show was disappointing. And no, I never once suspected it was an action show. The title kinda made it seem impossible. I did expect some action here and there though. Which was to be had. Slice of life is either supposed to make you laugh your face off, or watch as the characters grow with each other, getting through the problems of life. This was basically Rick's emo journey to understand that he wants to bake bread. Rick and the three are as oblivious to the true nature of the island as they were since the beginning. It's just sad. ![]() |

This episode was actually nothing special to me, it did feel like an ending even though it didn't give that much closure. Overall this show.. Hmm.. The reason I started watching this show was because of the art, and it made me stay for the whole thing too. I did come in expecting some action at first but was slightly disappointed that there were very little. The small bits of action were pretty good though, so I'm quite satisfied with that. The characters were great IMO, the art was just awesome, voice acting was very good and the music was also really good. Pretty relaxing show in the end, with a great atmosphere and a bit of action here and there. I originally intended to give it 7/10, but after some thinking I found this to be pretty enjoyable and fun to watch. 8/10 ![]() ![]() |

I don't see how so many people is hating on this show and made this show have such a lower score while Aria have much higher score. Well, Aria was from the start sure of what it wanted to do and never deviated from that, at least not for very long. It did what it set out to do very well and in a way that satisfied the expectations of the people watching it to a very high degree. Shining Hearts, however, has struggled with what it was trying to be and in the end didn't do what it wanted to do very well. Now, mind you, I didn't dislike Shining Hearts, but I felt it definitely did better when it wasn't trying to be trying to be action/adventure. The actions sequences, with the exception of the sword fight between Rick and Xiao-Mei in the castle, just simply came across very awkwardly to me. Everything else, from Hank's motor scooter to Rick's sudden ability to take down a high tech battleship with a sword, just came across as so much "Gee! Look at what I can do!" and felt very out of place. ![]() |
An anime about bread making should stick to bread making. The series went down hill once they incorporated fighting into it. Overall the anime was average. This episode and its conclusion emphasized that. 6/10 ![]() |
For being a part of the shining series this was a disappointment.. I started playing the games since the first one made its debut and checked out the anime.. It was all great. This just sucked.. but I guess everything cooked up comes with a bad egg every now and then.. ![]() |
I'm really disappointed... I was still hoping for some answers and to see some past scenes. We didn't even see the pirate girl at all... nothing happened and we still don't know anything This anime was worth watching just because Melty & Sorbet were in it. ![]() |
You know that woman from the bar with the garlic bread? I always thought the pirate was the father of her son because both of them had similar eyes (unless I imagined that...). I was going to give this a 4 if not for the scene where Rick was basically dying and he still puts in effort to take some bread out to give to Kaguya. 5/10 ![]() |

it was okay. i just didn't find this show standing out because it didn't had much actions, it's still bread in the end! but hey, that's how this show's supposed to be, i guess. i like most of the chars though, they are really cute. pretty much the only thing worth enough for me. ![]() |
Siva said: I guess Shinning series will never get any decent adaptation. Personally, I like this anime version better than the game itself.. I didn't get much feeling of happiness when playing the game despite it was supposed Shining Heart story theme. From the game OP and ED, it is even implied the story takes place in an Utopia or World of Happiness. I still wondered why some characters from the game doesn't appear at all in this anime, maybe it is result of fitting the story into only 12 episodes. endlessabyss said: So many things needs to be explained and the episode just ends like this? I think if they explained it, it gonna take the happiness away from the story. ![]() Modified by melina_putri, Jul 4, 2012 10:08 AM |
